New Bond users are strongly encouraged to use the new Bond Home app, not this app. This app does not support Local API, SmartThings, Control4, and other local integrations.
If you are using one of our Smart by Bond products, please download the latest Bond Home app (version v2 and up) on App Store. We will be updating the new Bond Home app to support the Bond Bridge product and all users will be notified upon official release.
This app requires the Bond Bridge (BD-1000) in order to control appliances with remote controls. Bond can control appliances with RF based remote controls such as ceiling fans. Bond works with your Amazon Alexa and Google Home.

Incredible solution for the smart fan dilemma
Fans continue to be one of the most difficult devices in the home to make smart. You either need to buy a smart fan for a premium with limited style choices, buy an expensive quirky smart controller, or hack something together. A few days ago I stumbled upon someone mentioning the Bond on reddit. I immediately ordered one to try it out. Long story short, it’s amazing. It instantly detected keep fan controller and controls the fan perfectly. Only cons are that it has a relatively short range so you aren’t going to be able to control many rooms with one (I was hopeful about this, but no biggie), also I wish it had HomeKit support. Otherwise, this thing is amazing and the app is great. They have lots of planned device support additions, which really sweetens the deal, but even if it only did fans, I’d recommend this to anyone. The two big additions that I look forward to are split unit control and smart window shade control.
This is a great product for our home. We have 5 fans all on the BOND in a two story house. All fans have lights on them and this product does an absolute excellent job of controlling the fans and lights. With Alexa we can program fans/lights to be on a schedule. This is definitely a product we were hesitant to purchase because we have very outdated universal remotes that were in desperate need of replacement. Instead of buying new fans we found this product and were able to program all our fans into the BOND and put the remotes away, hopefully forever! Try it out you won’t regret it!
Why not 5 stars? With Alexa at times it will throw the BOND off thinking a fan is OFF when it’s really ON or vice versa. Also, it did take quite awhile to for start up when programming the remotes as I had to manually input each button on the remotes for the fans. The minor issues our outweighed by how great the product is overall.
Making the jump to the new app
I was hard set on sticking with the classic app. It offered the widget function which I use multiple times a day. I wrote into support to ask where this was in the new app and Chris from their team replied. He said they were considering supporting it in future releases but for now it wouldn’t be available. After a few months I gave up hope and figured I’d just stick with the classic app. It wasn’t until yesterday when I received a beautifully designed and formal announcement about widgets coming to the new BOND Home App. After only one day, I’m hooked. The widget is beautiful and functions so much faster than the predecessor. I even reached back out to Chris to share my excitement. I look forward to what comes next for BOND. Maybe they’ll start integrating directly into the Merwry ceiling fan I love so much and see they have starting selling as a bundle with BOND ;)
