I am a kidney dialysis patient. I sit in a chair 3.5 to 4 hours 3 x week. When I get home, I am so tired, I just lie in bed. The only energy I tend to have is to read. This site gives me books I enjoy, as many as I can read. I don't know how they do it. Other sites limit the number of books each month (one site is 3 books per month for $8.99). That site seems to carry less books and they are not recent releases. I am very happy with the site, and unlike another unlimited site that carries books by unknown authors or gets a person " hooked" on a book then makes you buy anything else for that author, this one gives me what I like. The great part is no pop up ads!

I was excited to use my free Trial. Read a book I had been dying to read for quite some time. It wouldn’t let me stop the subscription to renew after the month without stopping my free trial so I left it alone. I finished the book I wanted to read and didn’t use the app much after that. Forgot to cancel the renewal since I hadn’t been in it, which I stated to them, and when I messaged them the SAME day that it renewed, they denied me a refund since “their rules don’t allow it.” No where in their FAQs does it say anything like that at all or anywhere else that I could see. I won’t recommend this app to anyone. Might as well just go buy the books if you’re going to get charged $10 every month and their “customer service” isn’t very customer oriented. Make sure you cancel in time otherwise they won’t do jack to help you out.

Was reading book that I downloaded myself (not from the library)and suddenly got a message that I need to buy a premium to read this book. I actually have premium, so I check and it’s expired, but standard was still in place. Went back thinking that that I could read on, the book that I downloaded myself?!No they prompt me to buy premium. I got premium and canceled standard. Guess what - was billed for both standard and premium.Just opened case for refund for standard.Why I have standard and premium? Because years ago I got standard and then upgraded to premium for 4.99, had actually two items on my bill, but this year I don’t know what happened???

+Huge selection of books in different languages+easy to use+just 9$ / month for premium-be aware it' a SOCIAL network and be careful connecting your social accounts to this app otherwise ALL your friends who have the same app will see what kind of books you reading. I obviously wanted to keep my pregnancy as a secret for much longer but just because i added pregnancy books to my shelf and didn t mark it as "private" it was not a secret anymore. Stupid. I also discovered a lot of interesting facts about my friends 🙈 like their sexual preferences and so on. It is clear that a lot of people don't understand that this app will give you 0 privacy and the App is not advertising that they are social network, it's not clear from description.-tech support will communicate with you in language THEY prefer by making assumptions from your library and your name. Just because i had a few Russian books in my library they replied to my english written request in Russian. 🙈🙈 It only took them three emails to start replying me in English

First, it is actually impressive how Bookmate managed to have such a poor UX and app layout, when there are so many great UX designers out there! Looks like they’re competing for ‘the worst design’ prize, and successfully so. The app is hard to navigate, creating bookmarks is a nightmare, mails to support from the app just wont work etc. etc. Second, I have a paid full premium subscription, but can’t open any books anymore. Looks like there is a disconnect between my payment and my account. After digging through (unhelpful) FAQ, reinstalling and all sort of bending backwards to make it work, I am now sitting pretty and waiting for support to help me out.... Paid days are ticking, service not provided.

This app is a scam. It’s malicious, and it’s sketchy as heck. When I signed up for the free trial, (DO NOT DO) it wouldn’t let me turn it off, but rather kept giving me different payment options. The only way I was able to get the subscription off was to delete the app and come back in. It’s scary, it’s not right. And the downloading of books always comes with viruses. I don’t recommend using this app, something isn’t safe about it.
