Great headphones, mediocre app

Don’t get me wrong, the 3 star rating does not reflect the PX. The PX are great headphones whether used with or without the Environment filter based on three usage situations.

The app however, is a different story. It’s functional and does what it needs to do but the 2 star reduction is due to the app launch and relaunch. Don’t understand why it needs to do another “searching for headphones” after it’s first connected and launched. Bose Connect and Parrot Zik apps stay connected during the current session. And sometimes the PX app hangs during “searching” so long that I have to disconnect/reconnect from Bluetooth just to launch the app again. Just not a good user experience. Hopefully the folks at Bowers will get this right soon.

Come on!

This app worked great early 2018 when I purchased the PX headphones. Now, when I attempt to sign in on PX wireless B&S headphone app it gives me an “Invalid Entry - Either your email or password is invalid. Please
Try again.” message. I attempt to reset my password, get an email from B&W stating that you guys have updated your site and to make a NEW account on the new site and then (re)register any products you want associated with it. However, you CAN’T make a new account on the new website because it tells you that there is already an account associated with your email and prompts you to reset your password if you’ve lost it. I have reset my password and even tried associating my account with a different email but, although everything works fine on the website, I continue to get the same “invalid entry” error message when trying to log in on the app. I even deleted and re-installed the app, no difference. The app keeps prompting me to register my device (which I did on the app when I bought it early 2018 & just redid in new website today) so I can get firmware updates but then doesn’t let me sign in - maddening! I’ve come to expect quality from B&W but if you guys can’t get simple app & website compatibility issues resolved then I surely will NOT be shelling out big $$$ for your new mesh network wireless “Formation” series. Can’t even imagine what a mess that would be!

The headphones are great, excellent sound (especially with noise cancellation turned off). My only issue is this app, it takes literally minutes to connect at times and then auto pause power save function just does not work properly. The headphones will auto turn off just by the slightest head movements, even yawning haha.

Perhaps it’s a bad set of headphones, not sure... either way it could certainly use a bit of work to ensure a top quality experience, considering the brand and reputation and, not to mention, price paid.
