i’ve been using storage services for almost the longest time and it’s interesting that as an Apple user and also as a person who never has a lot of money that’s today as I’m shifting through iCloud files and trying to find a better way just to do what I do in general I intuitively just get the vibe to come back and download box again and I looked at the updates and it’s totally different than when I first used it. I was originally gonna go and download Terra box and then I saw this and they basically applies to compensate for all the apps that I have right now so this is definitely getting five stars from me this is probably going to be the most productive app that we use now.

  • Your data is NOT safe!!

    Blahahahahahhhhhjk

Box just erased my files! I will never trust this service with my data ever again. I had recent files which I had just created on my phone with a scanner app which had not yet synced to the cloud. The files showed up in the iOS Files app (which can be used to browse Box) & in the scanner app’s browser (which utilizes the Files app). But they did NOT show in the Box app. Checked for Box app updates. Yes, Box app had an update. Installed it. Opened & refreshed Box. Box then erased my local files by doing a one-way sync from online >> to >> local, overwriting everything new in the local files on my phone that had not yet been synced to the cloud! I lost data. Lost time. Lost confidence in Box. Potential new users beware.

  • Why the fuss?

    Tsklt

Very good compatibility with the iWork suite of applications via WebDAV. However to do it right you need to set up folders using your main computer- which you can't do within the app- at least as far as I can tell. Also you cannot delete an existing file from the Box site using just the app-- but you can using the main website ( I did not try using safari web-browser within the iPhone ). Maybe this is a sensible security device but it is inconvenient but livable. They also have a free app at their website (among others)that will allow you to save an Office app file (like Word) directly to Box -- kind of like Dropbox. Also others as well including Googledocs. I don't understand all the fuss for a little inconvenience especially after seeing how easy it works with Pages etc. Yes Dropbox is slick (but for whatever reason refuses to set up WebDav so that makes working with iWork apps more problematic - doable - but why put up with the hassle)) and I won't get rid of it but I am certainly going to be using Box since I have cross platform needs. And yes iCloud continues to sync across the Apple platforms. Buy I needed this cross platform service since I still use for -whatever reason - a PC! I am working on this shortcoming of using a PC :) Good luck!

  • Not moving in the right direction here...

I have actually overall been pretty happy using Box to store and organize my files over the last several years. I prefer the UI to the several others I've tried out (I HATE Microsoft's OneDrive, for example). But over the last year or so, I have been through two or three rounds of issues where the app would either crash repeatedly or refuse to open any PDF files (which accounts for probably 90% of my files). The good news is those issues seem to be fixed (for now). The bad news, and if it's not fixed very soon, what may be the final straw, is that while the latest update fixed the crashing and PDF issues, it inexplicably took away the option to organize files and folders either in the traditional manner, alphabetically and numerically. Everything is now organized only by what's been opened most recently. I've looked repeatedly through the settings options, and if there's still an option to change that, it's REALLY well-hidden. I cannot imagine I'm their only customer to have a major problem with this. A lot of my folders have 30 or 40 files or sub-folders in them, and I have them organized alphabetically or chronologically. Or I should say I HAD them organized that way. Welcome to hell if you're trying to locate one of them now.

  • Best online storage app ever!!!

    DPG 0122

At first I was just trying to test it out with low expectations, because of the other online storage lockers that I had tried before box. But after downloading the app and making the account I was blown away because it was so simple and did what I needed it to do. A little while after I downloaded it I had a presentation that I needed to do at school that required my group to make a PowerPoint and a word document and our emails weren't going to each other so I put the PowerPoint, and word document on my account and opened it on my group members computers and everything turned out great in the end. Also at the time I downloaded it there was some special thing that was going on and when I signed up I got 50GB of free space on my account! That was the best part of the whole thing and I have recommended this site to everyone that I know. So to me this is the greatest service ever. I never need another online storage locker and if I need more space all I have to do is buy some more, simple as that. I think that everyone should have an Box account and keep this service around forever.

  • BOX IT UP!

I just have to share what an incredible app this is. My band uses Box to collaborate, both with music file transfers in full .wav, or any other,, lyrics, and even communicate with each other. Any band member can upload, and download files, even post last minute changes before a gig, and they become available across all devices. If need be, we can even play our backing tracks directly from Box in full .wav. I have come to understand that this is a mac feature, and PC's will upload/download the file in .wav, but converts it to 320 mp3 for play back from Box, which still sounds fine. It also serves as a place to keep all our songs backed up in the cloud. My band mates can upload the back beats, and basic melody of a song as soon as they have written it, and I can get started right away writing my parts, comment on the song, etc, before next practice. Makes our limited together practices really count. So cudo's to Box for doing it right. I really can't fault it on anything. It works flawlessly. It is just what the doctor ordered for file transfers, and cloud storage. Thanks Box, we love you!!!The members of One Violet Green...
