Download the BPme Rewards gas app, the official home of the bp gas rewards and mobile payment. Just open the gas app, check-in at participating bp or Amoco gas stations, select your fuel pump & you can save instantly on every gallon. All with contactless payment (including Apple Pay) from the comfort of your car. No more touching pin pads in bad weather.
New! Starting in February 2021, you can now subscribe to Price Match on the homepage of the BPme app. Price Match is a first-of-its-kind offer that gives BPme Rewards members the best gas price* by automatically comparing bp and Amoco prices to competitor stations (Exxon, Mobil, Shell, Chevron, and Marathon) within a half mile radius. If there are no competitor stations within a half mile radius, the search expands up to two miles. If there is a lower price for the same fuel grade, a cents per gallon savings will automatically be applied to their next BPme Rewards purchase. This offer is optional and is available in the BPme app for a monthly subscription fee of 99 cents.
• Minimum of 8 gallons must be pumped to run a price match calculation.
• Regular, Mid, or Premium fuel, each grade will be compared against that same grade at competitor sites.
• There are no minimum gallons for redeeming cents per gallon discounts, only for generating a price match calculation.

Other BPme app features you’ll get include:
• Save time and money at both bp and Amoco gas stations as you navigate your trip.
• A better way to save. You can receive 5¢ off every gallon on every visit.
• Ongoing rewards and special bonus offers for additional fuel savings.
• Instant rewards. You can instantly save right from your phone. No searching for rewards cards or swiping required.
• Conveniently review your fuel rewards details from the app.
• Securely store credit and debit cards for future visits.
• Go paperless. All your receipts are saved automatically.
• No credit card? No problem. Use PayPal as a sign up and payment option.
• Skip the pin pad. Now you can pay and save right from your driver's seat.
• Maximize gas savings with your BP credit card by combining credit rewards and BPme Rewards.
*Subscription fee of 99₵/month & purchase of at least 8 gal of fuel required in a BPme Rewards transaction. Posted credit price at bp/Amoco will be compared to the posted credit price according to Gas Buddy at any Exxon, Mobil, Shell, Chevron, or Marathon sites within a ½ mile radius at the same time. Savings up to a maximum of 5₵/gal. Terms & conditions apply: bp.com/price-match-terms.

Great overall

The app is intuitive enough to use once its setup. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the start up of the app (once I’m at the BP station of my choice) takes noticeably longer to load than any of the other gas apps I use. Maybe look at using async methods within the webservice application and have certain aspects of the app to load one at a time while the rest of the information (the cents off) loads. When I first started using the app I thought it froze up since the UX just shows a gas station image for approx 15-20 seconds with no perceived activity by the app; maybe have a BP waiting/loading indicator. Other than that I love the convenience of not having to use my BP rewards card and then use my credit card for a gas transaction. Keep up the great work on the app; it’ll only get better!

So far not too happy with this app

When I signed in with my finger ID on iPhone it told me that I could not use the app because I needed to be connected to Wi-Fi, I turned on my Wi-Fi it still did not work I turn my Wi-Fi off it still did not work and then it told me that my credit card was not set up which it was because I got a dollar hold on my account and my credit card showed me that a dollar was charged to my account right away as it did in the past when I use BP gasoline. Then the pump kept asking me for my reward I press no it didn’t work I press cancel it cancel my transaction I went on the inside to talk with a representative they told me to come back out and do it again and press the enter button when Rewards popped up it still didn’t work I wound up going to another gas station which is very frustrating. Once I get to the next gas station the same thing happened it said see attendant I wound up having to pay on the inside which defeats the purpose of having the app however it’ was $.20 off which lets me know that my card is connected to the app but it’s not working at the pump when I fill up if the same thing happens I’m just going to delete the app and switch gas stations I guess I’ll try shell gas. Sorry for the long rant and no punctuation, I’m using talk to text for this review.

Why complicate things?

At BP I used to be able to enter my number or swipe my loyalty card at the pump. I cannot do that any longer. Why? I have to download this app and use it to pay. Or use it to link my cards so that the discount applied automatically. The latter wasn’t clear until I tried paying at the pump a second time (worked fine only once, a problem that BP acknowledges is common but apparently won’t fix). After calling my banks, I tried removing all my cards and adding them back but could not add anything back; kept getting an error message. So I called customer service which says it flagged my account for fraud but cannot explain why. That’s why I can’t make payments in the app. The rep informed me that I should just pay at the pump (then why have an app?!?!), and as long as my cards are linked to my loyalty account the discounts will apply. But of course, now I can’t add any of my cards. The app just says there is an error. Over and over again. I am over it. Why over complicate things with unnecessary tech?

Edit: The ALT ID option is missing from most pumps. I used to be able to press cancel and get it to come up but at least in my area, since the program changed, it doesn’t work anymore.

Developer Response ,

Hi Brionté, thanks for your updated review. The ALT only works at participating BPme sites. Our support team can walk you through verifying site participation as well as setting up and using your ALT ID on site. Please contact them at 800-333-3991 for assistance. Thanks, BPme Team
