Brightness+ is a app which can change your display colors in various ways to give you a color scheme more suited to low light conditions (such as at night).
PS:All of the preferences setting just work for night mode.

Its with it
You have to manually set your hues and colors but once you do its pretty nice. However, pretty mch everything does lose its color, which im not really a fan of.
Does not actually invert hues
The original nocturne application which this is based on does not actually invert hues. Without that, night mode is not that useful if you want to keep some color.
Does what it says
I’m incredibly sensitive to bright white screens and haven’t found anything that does what I’d really like, which is to negate the screen easily when I need to write. This does it well, and with a pleasant, Mac-like UI that works great in Mavericks with regular or full-screen apps. Money well spent. If there was one thing I’d like to see, it’s the ability to assign a keyboard shortcut for turning night mode off and on. Otherwise, seems perfect.
