Chelle (Michelle L.), the Customer Support Specialist, was very helpful when my card was suspended due to fraud alert. Chelle quickly verified the issue and helped to reactivate the card as soon as possible. It saved me from need of issuing a new card and waiting for replacement to arrive to home address. It took a phone call and a couple of emails back and forth. She gave advices how to secure the card and to get the Card Alert notices. Thank you, great service!

The worst of all times - not able to use own money

After blocking my card for suspicious activity two days before an international flight, I didn’t receive a replacement card because there is no tracking number for it and they tell you to wait to get back onboard after 75 days vacation to get a new card. They simply don’t update you about the card. Meanwhile during Christmas and NYE I was not able to transfer funds or purchase not even when they provide temporary access. The transfer funds icon keeps inactive. Most of the time the support takes too long to answer and sometime don’t even respond to your complaint. It’s really disappointing.I believe this company has no good structure to deal with such situation. It’s been more than one month so far trying so get access to my own money. I can’t even transfer to another private account. I recommend companies to switch services to their crew members because this is not the first time I have problems with Brightwell.

Brightwell is a weak financial institution with limited services and previously confirmed security breaches. When you communicate to their support team they may throw your case around to 5 different people, and this may be as simple as request account balance with their letterhead or clarify situation about money transfers. Also according to my experience they have challenging “remittance partners” that consistently limit and restrict variety of transactions performed by their clients. Overall, Brightwell can be considered as a money saving solution for the cruise ship corporations, nothing more. I would advice anybody to avoid them at all costs, if not possible to transfer money you receive with them to the real banks (yes, Brightwell is not a bank).

I’m giving one star because this doesn’t allow me to give none, but this app is really awful, the interface doesn’t work, the support team reply you three days after and with no solutions, there’s always a problem to send or receive money is just a headache everytime I try to do something in this bank, and the worst part of all is I still have to use it because it’s were I get paid, I have others bank account without issues but this is just useless all the time, so if there’s someone from this company reading this please hire someone that really cares about give a good service with this app, because so far it’s just problem after problem.
