Smart Home Hub...
I originally pulled this down to configure the Brilliant light switch I purchased. What I am realizing is this could be a much bigger aspect of the Brilliant line. They have a really clean way of integrating many products in a way that say a Control 4 system does. So yes the light switches are great but the app along with it makes for a really nice single solution to manage your smart home. Looking forward to seeing the ability to copy scenes so it’s easy to make variations without re-programming everything. Also would like to see the ability to configure devices from the app like you can do on the switches.

Cool but not great…yet
Installed a master and 2 remote switches. The master is cool with its features but also complicated to configure. Need to move more configuration options to the app. Biggest complaint is the latency in the remote switches on motion detection. It’s a serious 3-4 seconds that turns on once I’m 6 feet into a dark room. Need to fix so it’s more instantaneous. The remote switch is about 15 feet from master and even if I waive my hand in front of switch when I enter the room it has this delay. I’m not allowed to buy anymore by the lil woman until this is fixed. Also would be nice to set my own timer of how long before lights auto shut off options are 1 or 5 minutes, why not let user customize? Lastly, needs more software flexibility to create if/then scenes. For example turn lights on off at a time or event. Definitely cool, if Brilliant and iDevice combined, this would be the best switch period. In the meantime needs more work and faster releases to get me to buy another.
Good, but a work in progress
I have several of these expensive switches installed now and can say they are very cool. The latest version of the app that added bulk upload of photos works on the iPhone, but stalls reading the photo library on the iPad Pro, a bit frustrating.
As far as the switches go, its clear that the firmware is still being worked and I like the fact that they have an auto update features, so I have hopes that these things will get fixed. The Smartthings integration seems to have problems, in fact, I can’t even get it to work with the Smartthings Hub v3 even though the support documentation says it works. I assume this will get fixed eventually.
The hardware/firmware that this app supports is very cool, but is clearly a work in progress. The app, is progressing with incremental new features, but probably needs a bit more testing.
Would like to see TP-Link’s KASA integration.
