Description

Browser Ninja is an app that helps you easily switch your default web browser. Use as many browsers at once as you want and select your current default browser from menu bar.

If you want to use a specific browser for certain pages or in other specific conditions, just define a rule and Browser Ninja will open it for you.

No more copy and paste of URLs. No more looking for hidden settings.

Zoom?

Wish it would let you add Zoom as a browser so you could open Zoom links. I really miss MultiBrowser, which supported this (but broke on Catalina and is apparently no longer supported).

Exactly what I needed!

If you need an app that allows you to quickly switch between your default browsers, then look no further! This app does that and much more.

My MacBook Pro is for both work and personal use, but I like to keep my browsing separate. Additionally, I use two different browsers for personal use because some web apps perform better on one browser than another. In the end, I use a total of three different browsers throughout my day.

Here is where Browser Ninja saves the day for me...

I use Outlook for work email and need all of my links from Outlook to open in Chrome. I use Mac Mail for personal email and need all of my links from Mac Mail to open in Safari. Browser Ninja allows me to create a rule to do just this! You can make browser rules as simple or as complex as you like to make sure your links are going where you want them to.

I read the negative reviews, and maybe this app suffered in the past, but that is definitely not the case now! If you need to work in multiple browsers and are annoyed by constantly changing which one is the default, you need this app.

Deceptive advertising

The description says "an app that helps you easily switch your default web browser". While that's technically true, what it does is become your default browser and then proxy browser requests. That's not what I was expecting. I was expecting an app that switches my default browser (you know, the Default Web Browser as found in the System Preferences), not something that hooks in as the default browser and then does the choosing.

Developer Response ,

Hi jaracosan,

It did not occur to me that this can be an issue.

I actually tried to create a separate free app that does only browser switching but Apple does not allow this app to pass a review. They think it does the same thing this app do. I could not convince them there is a difference.

So I'm going to add switch-only mode to this app in the next major update. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Regards,
Nikita
