Needs some work
Overall the app works well, except for the limited map selections and failure to let you use SiriusXM on your smartphone. Map choice is awful. Requires you to purchase apps, some which perform poorly, when they work. Do not understand why you cannot use fee ones such as Waze or Google Maps. Gets an F rating for that. Music part seems to function well except for the failure to let you use any music app you have on your smartphone. Best thing to do is not use BRP Connect but instead just get a phone holder and use your smartphone instead. Hope someone is listening out there........?
Best Navigation Option
Tired of updating nav units? Me too. I tried the Syngic app through the BRP connect app and will remove my nav unit now. Was great just being able to use the bikes onboard screen and not waste time trying and most of the time failing to about my nav unit. I have used both TomTom and Garmin and both can be a pain to update maps and software. BRP connect has made this simple by just using your phone. Looking forward to loading ITunes with great traveling music to eliminate searching for good stations and the radio. Hope they find more compatible apps for the BRP connect.
I guess I expected better
I love my Spyder. I just assume the application would be as high-quality as the bike. I think it’s a great idea but I think it has a long way to go. At 65mgh you should focus on the ride, not why the music and gps just stopped and won’t go again. I have totally uninstalled and started back at 03 different times over the last three months. At this point I’ve just decided nope. I like the big screen display, but it’s really not that great when it doesn’t work. Obviously it needs more apps, but it’s new, if they can get it working that will come. If. Maybe I’ll check back at a later date with hope. But I am going to just revert back to google maps and Bluetooth connection.
