Snap a photo and get 3 ranked matches, a clear danger flag, and what to do next — spiders, bites, stings and household pests.
Know what bit you — and whether it's dangerous.
BugAlert turns your camera into a fast bug, spider and bite identifier built for one moment: when you find something and need to know if it's a threat. Snap a photo and get three ranked matches with honest confidence, a clear danger flag, and what to do next.
Built around the danger question
• Colour-coded danger verdict on every result: venomous, bites, stings, disease-carrier or harmless.
• "What bit me?" mode narrows welts and stings to a likely culprit — mosquito, tick, flea, bedbug, spider, ant or wasp — with first-aid steps and clear red-flag guidance on when to seek care.
• Pest mode helps you tell a cockroach from a carpenter ant from a termite, read the signs of an infestation, and decide DIY vs. call a pro.
Accurate, honest identification
• Three candidates with confidence — never a single overconfident guess.
• Species info: common and scientific name, reference photos, range and season.
• Voice input for the bug that got away: describe it and get likely matches.
• Every scan saved to your history.
Important
BugAlert provides informational identification and general safety guidance only. It is not medical, veterinary or pest-control advice. For a bite or sting that worries you, or a suspected infestation, consult a qualified professional.

So i tried it out on objects to see if this app is big and bad but it thought a penny was a bug! Oh and it thought my pants were a monarch and my pants are gray oh and it thinks everything is a Asian lady beetle hey so it keeps on glitching and I have to delete it I had to delete four times but now I can’t get it again can you fix it from Rylee
Don’t waste your time.

I had this on my iPhone for a few months because it was fun and mostly identified correctly! I deleted because I was not using it anymore, and because I needed extra storage in my phone. I just downloaded it so I could find out what type of spider the one I found was; I took a decent picture and put it in the app. It was a brown spider with black stripes and white stripes on each side of its abdomen. It said it was a pill bug… I thought maybe it was a bad photo so I took one with better lighting; It said it was a northern honey bee. I don’t know what happened! This app used to work!

Quick identification results

I like just being able to take a photo of a bug & know instantly what it is. Having pets you get so many parasites especially in the summer. Nice to find out immediately if I to address them or if it’s just a common bug from the outside.
New in BugAlert: a clear danger verdict on every result — venomous, bites, stings or harmless — plus a redesigned "What bit me?" bite-triage mode with first-aid guidance, a pest infestation check, and faster, more accurate identification with three ranked matches and honest confidence.
