Create a reminder, get reminded of it, and tell your friends to do the same.
Bzzt is designed to help you remember things. Once you create a reminder, Bzzt will remind you periodically throughout your day from the hours of 8AM to 6PM. Bzzt won't remind you during the night. Unless you tell it to. Just enable push notifications.
For your frown-upside-downers Bzzt lets you spread positivity and influence others by letting you share your reminders. Just tell the app you want to "think a positive thought" and when Bzzt reminds you, you can remind your friends.
Currently in Bzzt there are three reminder type settings: Sometimes, Often, Bug Me!
Each of these reminder types will send you notifications at different times of the day. Some are more often than others, and each have specific reasons for being in the app.
- You will be reminded at least three times per day. It could be in the morning, or it might be at night. Bzzt will pick between two and three random times during your day to remind you. Use this setting to receive reminders like "Take A Break" or "Think A Positive Thought."
- This reminder settings will trigger randomly up to six times per day. "Often" is programmed to choose between four and six random times during your day. You might use this setting if you want to be reminded to "Drink Some Water" or to "Tell Mom I Love Her". This setting is meant to be more prominent in your day.
- This setting is meant to be very active during your day. "Bug Me!" will send you notifications up to eight times per day at random. Bzzt alert you approximately every hour and a half. This setting is great if you want to create a new habit, or break a bad one. You might use it to remind you things like "Stop Hunching Over", "Put the Phone Down", or "Compliment Yourself."
Bzzt can be used as anything from a simple stretch clock to a bad habit breaker. Starting a small change is statistically proven to lead to long term success.
Bug fixes and performance improvements.

Does what I want; UI needs improvement
I like this app. I use it to remind myself of things I want to ponder on throughout the day to bring me back from the busyness of my job as a teacher.
The only thing I think this app needs to improve is the UI. On the home screen, the icons for the list of reminders, the "bug me" frequency of reminder, and "about the app" are all so close together that it's very difficult to hit the right button on the first try (I'm using an iPhone SE so maybe it's the size of the screen?) Anyway, that's really the only thing that needs significant work. The only other thing that bugs me is the "social" option to share with friends. This baffles me. I know it's probably because developers feel
the need to shoehorn "social" stuff into their apps, regardless of whether such a function actually does something useful. It's not a problem, just sort of annoying to know the developers worked on that when the UI isn't well designed.
Anyway, overall 4 stars.
Not Far Enough
Why can’t I set specific time windows for each reminder? Or any window at all? I’m active at work between 10AM-6:30PM, so work reminders that go off at 8:30AM are unhelpful, and I won’t get any between what, 4 and the end of my day? That’s a solid 2 hours that the app is worthless to me, not to mention people who are on 2nd or 3rd shifts who can’t use this app at all. Needlessly alienating a huge potential userbase.
This is a bit nitpicky, but personally if I get the same message 6 times a day my monkey brain would forget I wrote it in the first place and just start hating and ignoring it. Would love to be able to write 10-20 motivational messages to myself ahead of time and have them pop up on shuffle. If anybody knows an app with this functions please let me know!
Can’t get past the first screen
I downloaded the app and launched it for the first time and get a prompt to enable notifications or skip, but either option just shows an error “Unable to update”. So this app is pretty useless.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
