Description

Caffiend is designed to help you track your caffeine intake. It's built to take advantage of iOS, including support for saving data to Health, Widgets, and now Lockscreen Widgets. All of this wrapped in brand new, modern user interface that is optimized to help you quickly log your caffeine. The Home Screen shows you daily totals in additional to a graphical overview of the past week. You also have one tap access to favorites, giving you the ultimate way to log your daily coffee or soda.

But logging all that data is only useful if you can manage it. Your Caffiend Journal is a history of all your intake. This allows you to track your caffeine and hydration intake over days, weeks, months and beyond. If you make a mistake, no problem - easily tap and edit to make adjustments to your caffeine history, all of which is reflected in Apple Health as well.

Caffiend also supports Dark mode, Siri and more. Another important feature - Caffiend does not require a subscription and never will.

Of note - Caffiend for Apple Watch is in the process of being rebuilt, and will return in a future update.

I really hope you enjoy using Caffiend - follow me on Twitter @creative_ave for more. Please leave a review for Caffiend on the App Store and let me know how I'm doing. Caffiend will never pop up and ask you to rate it, but it is appreciated!

Tremendous potential - just not reliable

This app is just what I need, unfortunately it's very unreliable. Sometimes when you add a drink the caffeine doesn't show up. Sometimes when you add water it doesn't show up. Today I drank 4 X 17oz water. The 4 showed up in the journal but only added to 51oz in the total and on the  Watch. I deleted a couple from the log and it showed -17oz of hydration.

Also, the app doesn't work right with HealthKit. Add a 67mg caffeine beverage and increment it to 134mg … only 67mg shows up in Apple Health. Argh! Did I pay for this?

Exactly what I needed!

When I decided to limit my caffeine, I downloaded all the apps designed to specifically track coffee intake. And after trying them all out, this one is the best by far. The simplicity of the app is exactly what I needed. Just using it for the first week, I was able to cut my caffeine in half. You can add reminders and set limits for the day. I also like that I can track the amount of water I’m drinking. I’ve found that setting limits on my caffeine, coupled with targets for water has helped me switch to better choices in my beverages.

The database is good and growing. But what I will say is that their customer service is excellent. I emailed about a problem I was having with the app and received an immediate reply with a solution. I wish every app was like this. As far as your favorite drinks, if they are not in the database, you can add them manually and also request that they be added to the master database.

If you’re looking for a way to stick to that New Years resolution. This is the perfect app.

Does what you need and does it very well!

There is a lot to love with this app for anyone needing to taper off caffeine. First off, the Apple Watch app is flawless in design and even has a round 'complication' you can add to your watch faces. Secondly, it syncs with HealthKit which is a bare necessity these days. I only wish the sync between HealthKit and the watch was smoother but this could be an Apple bug. Also the database isn't too extensive but it is really easy to add a custom drink or supplement.

I guess going forward if the developers wanted to expand they could add other stimulants of abuse like ephedrine or adderall but why make it more complicated because HealthKit integration means all apps can share data and they each focus on one specific area then combine and create categories to compare. For example, a sleep tracking app like Pillow should be able to read data from Caffiend and make a chart showing how late you can 'dose up' without ruining your sleep.
