Cammeo 4+

Cammeo grew big in Ljubljana/Slovenia recently and offers numerous taxis. I never had to wait for one more than 10 mins. Cars are clean and drivers very friendly. Ordering process is easy, but you need to free register first. You can pay via credit card. One could argue that their pick of car brand - Dacia Logan - is not the most exclusive one but it helps get the job (ride) done and keeps prices low.

It worked fine enough the first time I used it. Picked up and dropped off in the correct location. We provided cash.

The second time, I spent 30 mins trying to get the app to pickup the address I was putting in and calling Cammeo directly to get a driver out to us since at that point we were on a time crunch because of the technical issue. At first I was told that I called the wrong location for dropoff in Pula, then I called back when Pula’s Cammeo number didn’t work after putting in several variations of it. The operator had to call a driver to pick us up and we were told to look for a white car. That wasn’t enough assurance for me so I had to delete and then redownload the app for it to finally start working. I ordered another driver just in case. When the first driver actually showed up, I tried to cancel the second driver but the app stated it was too late to cancel.

All that to say, use at your own risk and preferably when you don’t have to be anywhere at a particular time.

I downloaded this app because firstly, ordering a taxi was supposed to be very simple: type in your adress and here comes the ride, and secondly, because you should be able to pay via credit card when you don’t have cash with you.
None of these two things have worked out for me so farc and I’ve given Cammeo more than enough opportunities. Never has it arrived on the correct adress nor has it dropped me off where it was supposed to, although this should go without saying considering the fact that they have navigation and all. Also, they brag about this app that allows you to pay with your credit card, but this also turned out to be impossible because their system is faulty and it just wouldn’t process the payment.
