Today’s update brings a much requested feature: the scene editor!

- Feature: We’ve brought the scene editor from Camo Studio on PC & Mac to the iPad! Add text, image, shape and web layers to your scene to customise it however you like.
- Feature: You can now add borders directly to your video feeds.
- Feature: Hold down on the “start recording” button to specify a custom name for that recording.
- Improvement: We’ve added the ability to resize video feeds using an external mouse or trackpad.
- Improvement: Background, filter and scene collections are now removable!
- Fix: We’ve fixed an issue that could cause the “pass to speakers” setting to stop working when switching audio inputs.
- Fix: We’ve fixed an issue where the titles of backgrounds in the gallery could sometimes be populated incorrectly.

Almost Perfect, But Amazing Nonetheless

I love this app! It’s something I’ve been waiting for since Apple announced their new line of iPads running their M series silicon chips. Camo Studio and the team behind it do not disappoint!
Some things I’d like to see addressed:
-Multiple audio inputs (or forcing mono input). I understand that there are constraints to the iPad and iPadOS. Given my setup, my interface can combine two different sources, that being my microphone, and my TV’s aux output, however it can only capture in stereo. So when I record or stream, my audio comes out with my voice in one speaker, and the gameplay from the other. I wonder if there’s a way to force the application to record audio in mono?
-My face cam shape. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I don’t seem to have the option to change the shape of my camera feed when trying to create a scene from scratch? It’s just the circle. I can see the option in the tutorial videos, but can’t seem to find them myself. This also might just be a me issue, but I find creating a new scene entirely to be a bit confusing to start? This is given I’ve used OBS Studio for years now on traditional computers.
Overall, great experience. I look forward to seeing where the team takes this app moving forward.

Regarding your inquiry about mono audio support in Camo Studio for iPad, we want to inform you that it's not currently supported. However, our engineers are fully aware of the demand for this feature and are diligently working to include it in future updates.

Just in time for the iPadOS update! I have a fairly decent Anker camera but their app keeps crashing (possibly due to the update) and I don’t even know if it screen records. This app saved the day. Great UI, could use some more adjustments eg brightness/contrast etc. But those are minor complaints. Recommended. Tip: if you don’t want a smaller video of yourself at the bottom right, just drag it off screen.

The idea is there but the execution needs work.
I imagine it is surely challenging to have your product compared to the streaming giant that is OBS. I imagine there is a lot of pressure on devs to get it to the same level as OBS, they’re doing a great job, however they are still missing some basic stuff. The most glaring of that being…
Community Plugins: build some sort of API so that the community can make plugins for the app (assuming Apple allows that, correct me if I’m wrong). Community plugins allows devs to focus on stability and groundbreaking improvements while the community can pick up the slack that OBS has over Camo Studio for iPad
Also some minor level bugs needs fixed as well. I just lost a recording of an entire, one showing only, play I was asked to film. The file didn’t save because it said that the save location I set it to didn’t exist despite me being able to open the exact folder (with all of the other camo videos I’ve recorded) it couldn’t find. A default save location to fall back on would have solved this issue before it even came up.
I love Camo but there is some work that needs to be done. It’s been a while since an update so I’m hoping they have something huge in the works.
