From time to time, the Canary auto-mode switching feature may briefly access your GPS in order to have high confidence in your location. Battery life is very important to us and we do many things to ensure we use it sparingly. Please be aware that continued use of GPS services running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

The app and interface work fine. The indoor cameras are decent, picture quality could be better and other systems have a few more options than these do but I haven’t noticed a serious need for them.
The outside camera is junk. I haven’t had this thing a year yet and it’s already quirky. The battery doesn’t hold a charge, it won’t recharge. It pops on and off signal all the time. I have a wifi booster 20 feet away from the camera in a window and I’ve moved it as close as I possibly can but it still pops on and off WiFi. The outdoor camera does not have night mode like the inside cameras do. So what’s the point? No one trapes around outside of your house in broad daylight. The sensor on it is iffy. I have it set to the most sensitive and you still have to be 10 feet away for it to trigger. So it’s not very reliable unless you have the video up on your phone constantly and then all you are doing is draining that battery that is junk.
Let me know when you put more into the outdoor camera and make it better. Otherwise I’ll figure out how to set up and indoor camera facing outside, so it can have window glare.

Poor Image Quality
The most important factor from a security camera would be the image quality. Purchased my first camera yesterday, installed it today. Cars parked in front of my house maybe 30 feet away seem pixelated, and license plates are a complete blur. Only offers decent quality up to maybe 10 feet. I have it wired to run plugged in which I thought would help with image quality.
Setup was simplistic. Signed up for the Premium Membership, for $9.99/mo. Only offer 12 hours of playback on the app without membership.
Overall, I’m not completely sold on it. The price point at $119 was doable compared to other models that run twice if not triple.

Worst customer service
My canary is a worthless paperweight. They offered many other features when I first bought and then poof they became paid features shortly after I bought at the much higher price point. Now the geofence will not work correctly on my husbands phone. It’s doesn’t correctly identify when he comes and goes. He can be sitting in the house, phone not moving and it will say he left, then he returned several times without touching his phone. Now it won’t even identify him leaving at all, as if he’s home all the time. So when we are both gone the system never activates away mode correctly to secure my home to take video if necessary. I have contacted customer support several times but the only means of support is email, no phone support. Very inconvenient because by the time they reply days later it never fixes the problem with the solutions they try to give you. I have tried removing my husbands app and reinstalling, also removing as a user and reinviting, I have also tried correcting geofence which by the way never changed and settings in the first place. So frustrated.
