Description

Canasta Score Keeper is the ultimate digital Canasta score sheet for iPhone & iPad.

You love playing Canasta with physical cards instead of some online game? That's great!
However you never really remember how to calculate your card points after each round or you simply don't have a pen and paper with you to track the scores? And course you want to be able to browse through old games and/or continue playing an open game at a later time? You'd like to connect with other nearby devices in order to let your fellow players view and enter the score from their own iPhone/iPad?

You have come to the right place!

- Keep track of any 2-Player/Team or 3-Player Canasta game scores.
- Enter scores manually or let the app calculate the score for you by simply selecting all cards for melds and in hand
- Save unfinished games and continue them at a later time!
- Browse through old games and see who you played against and how you all scored
- Define your own defaults (eg. how much a Canasta is worth, Points for ending a game etc) and define custom ranges for points required for the first meld
- Use the quick start for return games!
- Connect several devices to have each player be able to view and enter points from their own device
- Choose from 5 App Languages (English, German, Spanish, French, Turkish)

What’s New

Version 1.8.3

Bugfixes:
- Detailed Score-Screen: Issues with the scroll-behaviour when pressing +/- buttons on the cards
- Settings Screen: Negative values for black threes prompted an alert, although they are expected to be negativ

Great app

Overall, this is a great app. But one suggestion…

I love that you can choose to just enter the score number. Or to click on each card rank to tally the score. But I would live a third option that would be in between.

I’d love to be able to just click if a person has won the round, and how many red threes they have. But then enter the total points melded. To me, that seems to be the easiest way to enter information.

Other than that, your app is great. Best canasta score app out there.

Love it!!!

We play Canasta a lot and we‘ve been trying out quite a few apps so far to help with counting points and keeping the score. I have to say that this app is probably the best I‘ve seen so far, it simply does what it’s supposed to do and we are using it regularly since a few months now. There any many settings that allow to play slightly different Canasta variants and the UI is just really neat! I recently went for the in-App purchase and it is worth every penny to me as we love keeping track of previous games or just continue playing unfinished games at a later point. I can really recommend to everyone who loves playing Canasta in person!

Support site no longer exits

I could not figure out if you can change the number of decks (it doesn’t appear so). I went to contact support, but the site no longer exists. I don’t know if this is a temporary issue or if the site is just gone. The scoring seems to work as long as you don’t use more than 2 decks, otherwise it cannot automatically score.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your review. We apologies for the problems encountered with our support site, which has moved to a different location in the meantime. The Support URL has now been updated on the app store and we can always be reached on canastascorekeeper@gmail.com.
Regarding your question about the number of supported card decks: Our app was designed to play Canasta in person with two decks of cards (2 x 52 cards + 4 Joker), so unfortunately there is currently no way to change this in the settings. We feel this is a good idea for a future enhancement though and will potentially add it to our development roadmap.
