Good, but could be better!!
Love the app!! Love watch the books on Galatea come alive. The only reason why I didn’t rate it with 5 stars is because the app needs a few more tweaks. There should be a way with getting coins or unlocking episodes by watching ads everyday. I have other apps that do that and it make the app more enjoyable. Also, there needs to be a way to go from episode 1 to the last episode without having to go though all the episodes in between. If I watch a show and want to rewatch it, I don’t want to go through all the episodes to get back to the first one. There needs to be a way to watch any episode without scrolling through all the episodes.
Way too expensive compared to other apps
I got suckered into some of the similar apps out there, and I don’t mind paying some $ to support the actors and production crew. However, this is by far the biggest rip off on the market. It costs around $50 per series, no option to buy the whole thing in bulk, and some episodes are 30seconds while others are a minute and a half and filled with fluff (while it’s unthinkable that on these platforms where they edit everything down to 30s-1min long episodes there would be fluff, well they find a way) no way to skip episodes for example or to preview episodes etc.!
Look, I’m one of those people where at this point in my life I’d be willing to pay $15-$20 per series. It’s the deception and beyond exorbitant price that I find annoying and quite frankly insulting so I will be deleting this app right now.
Also, as enticing as they make the ads, trust me that you’re not missing much- they drag things out unnecessarily, no character development, no scene ever goes beyond kissing though they do say the F word a lot. You’d be far better off watching a classic rom-com! Better actors, story and development arks
Disappointing
Agree with others that they must be paying for the 5 star reviews. And if you read some of those, they’re not all actually positive. Several gripes. First, the cost. Definitely not a big enough library here to warrant paying $70/yr. A small monthly subscription maybe, but that’s not an option. There’s also no landing page for the stories so you can’t go back to rewatch something you might’ve missed or just liked and want to see again, the same way you might rewatch an episode or reread a chapter on another platform. Then there’s the wait time. 24 hours for a handful of super short chapters that are like 5 mins total viewing, if that? Ridiculous. I get this is how they’re trying to force a purchase, but again, they don’t offer enough to warrant that cost. Lastly, I saw some reviews mention they got points for signing up, but that was not the case for me. No points in the account and no way to earn points by checking back into the app or watching ads, none of that. Not worth it.
