Could Be Great; Not There Yet
Man, I'm so conflicted. I really want to encourage these developers to keep improving this app, but I just don't want to pay for something that just isn't there yet.
The app works and there are a lot of gerat ideas here, but it is seriously lacking in much needed preferences, especially for formatting (line spacing, tabs, bullets). Additionally, the user experience is sadly lacking. For example, when you open a new card and start typing, your cursor is immediately way up in the top left corner and you can't place the cursor somewhere else with your mouse. There is no Magic Mouse support.
Biggest issue of all is printing. There seems to be no easy way to print these cards for analogue use. Yes, there are work arounds, but none of them easy.
Finally, I really do hate paying subscription fees instead of buying an app outright. I know that's where the business is going, but it's not my preference.
Good app, best-ish notecards app for iPad
I’ve been using card flow mostly on my iPad for at least five years. I need infinite canvas on an app like this and some kind of search to locate groups of cards. It does these well. Some of the workflows are a bit awkward and it doesnt make my handwriting look very good. card size selection might be nice. I dont write huge documents but a few sentences or up to 10 bullets, text editing is ok too. It lets me write on the canvas which I like for organization or just a quick note. Free version is ok but paid has a few things that really make it useful for me. Add handwriting recognition/conversion please, along with search in my handwriting and you’ll be pretty good. BUT try to get the 5 year old reviews off the top of your area in the App Store, it makes it look like you’ve abandoned the app.
No Free Version for Desktop - Can’t Use Unless You Commit
Looks like a silly little basic app which would suit my purposes just fine - downloaded the desktop free version to give er a whirl. Boom - no way of even creating a single card - just an advertisement for the paid version which is an automatic $2 per month straight on your itunes account even if you hate it, it will automatically charge you until you go into your itunes account to cancel the subscription. If you are a few days over - tough crap! they keep the money for the whole month - all this just to see if this silly little app will even work for what you need it for! No thanks - there is no free version - its just an app you install that is an advertisement for the auto paid version. Don’t download this until they are up front about it being a paid app only.
