Could Be Great; Not There Yet
Man, I'm so conflicted. I really want to encourage these developers to keep improving this app, but I just don't want to pay for something that just isn't there yet.
The app works and there are a lot of gerat ideas here, but it is seriously lacking in much needed preferences, especially for formatting (line spacing, tabs, bullets). Additionally, the user experience is sadly lacking. For example, when you open a new card and start typing, your cursor is immediately way up in the top left corner and you can't place the cursor somewhere else with your mouse. There is no Magic Mouse support.
Biggest issue of all is printing. There seems to be no easy way to print these cards for analogue use. Yes, there are work arounds, but none of them easy.
Finally, I really do hate paying subscription fees instead of buying an app outright. I know that's where the business is going, but it's not my preference.
Not Ready for Production Use
I use the IOS app and I love it, so I wanted to be able to develop cards both from the Mac and from the iPad.
I'm using the 1-week trail version and right from the start I had difficulty with the Mac version hanging and syncing. I read the manuals to ensure I was aware of everything, but this application requires much work in terms of syncing, working back and forth between text, writing, and graphics modes, and selecting content. Subscribing to a product means the product is ready and has been well tested.
I'm sorry, I really want this product but I spend more time fiddling with it than creating cards.
It is better to work from the iPad and use Apple's multi-device copy and paste from the Mac to iPad. That is much faster than working solely on the Mac.
With all that said, I may still subscribe to support the developers to continue work on the product.
Really great app. Does just what you want it to do in a way that you don't notice the app so much, just focus on your thoughts and info. Very flexible. I use it for organizing, prioritizing, brainstorming, etc. I wish the iCloud integration was seamless (as it is you have to make the effort of transforming the file to the cloud if you want to open it on another device). But that's minor and doesn't detract from the app's great utility.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
