Beware of gift card wallet!

Update: customer service got back to me and resolved the issue. Updating rating to 4 stars, but I’m still frustrated by how long it took.

Almost two weeks ago, I started getting an error when trying to open the gift card wallet. I have at least $100 in gift cards in there that I can’t access. When I try to log in, I get a message saying that I am logged in from too many devices, even though I have only ever used one device.

I emailed customer service to ask them to reset the device count. I sent the first email from the wrong email account, which I realized as soon as I sent it. So I replied to the message from the correct email address. Two days later I got a response telling me that I had submitted the ticket from the wrong email address and I needed to resubmit it. So I did. That was last Tuesday. No response at all as of Monday (4 business days later).

If cardpool wants to act like a gift card “bank” they need to provide the level of customer support you expect from a financial institution.

“Instant” delivery is not so instant.

I’ve successfully used this app for a couple of years now. They must have had some management changes recently because I’ve read a lot of bad reviews on here about bad experiences and no response from customer service. I’ve had to have an issue resolved back in the spring and they did get back with me and it was taken care of.
Fast forward to now..
I purchased a digital Starbucks card a couple of weeks ago to upload to my Starbucks app and order while I was there. I’ve always had my digital cards immediately hit my wallet and could use them while there to pay. Not this time. It showed up a day later. So I ended up paying out regular for my order that day. I emailed customer service and they never responded. Maybe it was a fluke? I mean I’ve been using it for a couple of years and have always had good experiences with it. Always had instant delivery until that one time.
So, I purchased a gift card last night to send to my brother for his birthday. Still don’t have it. Sad to say, reading the other reviews saying that they are unreliable, after this card is finally delivered, I will be deleting my app. No longer trustworthy and not worth the risk. And if I can’t get my digital cards delivered instantly, they are of no use to me.
So long Cardpool, you were good for a time.

Don’t use the Cardpool kiosks!

So normally I don’t leave reviews but, I used a Cardpool kiosk about 2 months ago to trade in an Ulta gift card for 30 dollars and some change, just to get a few extra dollars for something else that I needed. Everything was going good until the machine went to print out the ticket, the machine was out of paper. I talked to the store, they couldn’t do anything about it. I called Cardpool customer service and they said the money would be credited BACK to my Ulta card with in 30 min. It has been about 2 months, and about 5 phone calls to customer service, and still NOTHING. I never got money from the kiosk, and my Ulta gift card never got the money put back on it either. I am livid, this is a scam and they have stolen money from me. I have left them my name, phone number, and address thinking that this company would do the right thing and at least try to send me a check in the mail. Still NOTHING, I wouldn’t recommend this company, in fact I would highly discourage people from using them. They lied and stole from me as far as I’m concerned, and have not tried to rectify the situation. I would never use this company again, and also, I would highly discourage people from using Cardpool. Smh, horrible time and money wasting experience.
