CARROT Weather: Alerts & Radar
Ratings & Reviews

Carrot provides the weather with a little more...personality. If you’re OK with sarcasm, political jokes, and the occasional insult, it might be right for you. (That said, you can opt out of Carrot’s snark by disabling its personality in settings.) But how good is it at the weather part? Pretty great. Carrot draws its data from Foreca, one of meteorology’s more accurate forecasting services.
Carrot weather is the first app I go to for accurate and reliable data on weather, both locally and globally. I love the radar, the long-range predictions, and a host of other really useful features that put it above the average, standard apps. Additionally, the added interactive gaming elements puts Carrot WAY up over the rest of the pack! I always hang around an extra few minutes to find a new location, or attempt to combine items to see what happens. Well done, Carrot!
I’ve had this app for years now and haven’t needed to use another weather app since. Shortly after my initial install, it sent an alert to my phone indicating rain would start in 2 minutes, and precisely 2 minutes later, as I walked out the door, it started raining. It’s ability to continuously provide ridiculously accurate forecasts, along with its Overkill personality and dark humor, is more than enough to keep me as a loyal customer.
I’ve used only one weather app for a long time, for all my outdoor activities, due to its reliability and great interface. I’ve tried 5 other popular weather apps but was not happy in comparison, so deleted them. I’ve been using Carrot now for a few weeks and think I’ve finally found a weather app better than my previous favorite. I’m still exploring features and settings but will say at this stage I’m a premium member and a fan. Way to go Carrot!! ~Dan
It integrates with my Netatmo weather station to show me the EXACT temperature in my backyard. The dev is so on top of current events that I learn about notable happenings from the goofy commentary before I even get Apple News push notifications. Plus the dev is super responsive when filing bugs, the app is super customizable … it’s just the bestEdit: Developer is also one of the few who put ACTUAL release notes in their updates. The effort does not go unrecognized :)
Have been using this as my only weather app for years and years! Beautiful UX, extensive customization options, the ability to select weather data source, and of course the humor are just a few things that make this app fantastic. I highly recommend this to anyone who's tired of the terrible UX and ads of other weather apps.As another iOS developer, I send the human who made this my sincerest regards.
This app is way less valuable to me with the loss of The Weather Channel and the only options being u reliable sources. TWC and Xweather are the two most accurate in my area. TWC is no longer available, and Xweather is having some sort or API mapping issue where it now shows the wrong precip type sometimes. I reached out to the developer about this and got no response back. I will no longer pay for this app.
