Fixed an error with iOS 12 that would prevent the maps from rendering properly.

I got this hoping to build a cool middle earth style of map and it was easy to creat the map but their is no way to actually build your own map. You could only raise and lower the sea level and change the map style. I went back to the AppStore to see if I was doing some Thing wrong but it looks like I wasn’t doing anything wrong and that’s just how it is. Which it’s not bad but I can’t creat my own world then. I also looked to see when it was last updated and it showed over a year ago. I’m just wondering if you are still updating the app and if creating and adding your own islands will ever be a thing?
Simple, useful, does what it says
This little app has been great as a starting point for mapping my campaigns.
It generates land masses, and it exports them to photos. You can select from a couple skins for the appearance of land and water, and you are able to adjust the “sea level” slider to alter the landmasses.
Buying the “Pro” version gives access to a few more skins to toggle through. I’ve found the parchment, desert, and arctic skins to be the most useful for altering after export.
It’s not loaded with tons of features, and it doesn’t allow for image editing. But using the mark-up and editing options in photos and (surprisingly) the native Notes app in iOS can produce some really interesting maps. There are also a number of drawing or mark-up apps that work well for filling in your map without ever closing your iphone. Concept, Tayasui, and Annotable are all great options.
The app is simple, produces good exports, and is fun to mess around with for inspiration. Definitely worth your time.
Kind of good
I tried it out and it did make a map quickly like it said. I just wish you could add more details and didn’t have to pay for other map styles. The terrain feature does nothing. Is it supposed to do something? It doesn’t change the map but do i need pro version for that? I will use it for a first rough draft of a map in future campaigns I run. I just wish you could add village locations and draw some terrain. It still works as a starting point though.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
