A very simple, easy to use cat clicker iPhone and iPad app for clicker training cats (or dogs). Or your husband or wife : ) I pretty sure it won't work with kids, though!
How it works:
When you touch the paw on the screen, your iPhone/iPad "plays" the clicker sound. You can choose different colors for the paw on the screen and set the background to either black or white.
You can also train your cat by making it touch the screen of your iPhone/iPad with its paw, this way the clicker sound will be perfectly timed with the desired action.
The iPhone/iPad cat clicker app also includes short instructions on how to clicker train your cat and photos showing cats being clicker trained with this app.

Great basic tool
I am starting to train my 9 week kitten and I was going to buy a clicker. This app saved me the trouble and money of getting a separate clicker. The app layout is not very pretty, but that's secondary to it's purpose. Thanks for making this free!
This is a great app! I use it for my dog though. >_<
Simply awesome, scientifically proven training tool!!!
If you are patient & consistent, clicker training really works! Some cats take to it better than others. In general, younger & more active cats, especially kittens, are easier to clicker train than older or laid-back cats. My eleven-month-old feral rescue Tortie LOVES training! You can also clicker train dogs, birds, & other pets. Clicker training can be used for adorable tricks like "high five" or behavior modification, such as "off" (as in "off the counter"!). If more folks used clicker training, we might have fewer cats in shelters due to their destructive behavior.
The best thing about this app is its convenience. Sometimes I misplace my clicker, but my iPhone is always nearby. And I especially love the gentle, non-abrasive sound, which is similar to the Premier clicker. The cheap, loud clickers, like the generic ones sold by some pet shops, scare my senior Pomeranian, but this one does not.
This app may not have all the bells & whistles, but it is a powerful tool when used properly & consistently. And it's free! Why not give it a go? This app, & the environmental enrichment it provides, could easily increase the bond between you & your beloved pet. :)
To learn more about clicker training and how it works, google Pavlov's dog, classical conditioning, operant conditioning, animal learning, animal cognition, shaping, animal training, behavioral psychology, behaviorism, the psychologist Dr. Skinner, & Karen Pryor.
To the app creator:
My only suggestion for this app is to perhaps add more paw print options (dog paw, pig hoof, bird foot, etc.) & perhaps symbols/images (cat, dog, etc.). You could also also change the app name to one that appeals to all pet lovers, or even create several apps for different species. Heck, this could turn into something big--forums, etc.--especially if you teamed up with Karen Pryor, the marine biologist who developed clicker training. Good luck!! :)
