Grand Cayman Island has the best snorkeling on the planet! Surrounded by coral reefs the water is calm. Fantastic coral formations and never ending variety of aquatic life make this THE destination for snorkelers.
We put together what we feel are the best snorkel spots on the island. We have snorkeled all but two of them and our hope is you enjoy them as well.
The App does not require any cellular data! Decide on a snorkel adventure location from the list and the App’s map will show you where they are and how to get there by simply turning on your GPS. Have fun exploring the marine life and aquatic landscape.
A side benefit of our map: It makes getting around the island a breeze!
You can turn OFF cellular data because the app does not need a cellular network connection. (We did add an optional weather feature that needs a bit of network data but it's optional. Use a wiFi network.). Just GPS! (Do NOT put it in airplane mode, or you will lose GPS). With no roaming data charge you can save lots of money. Verizon charges $2.05 per megabyte for international roaming data (priced 7/27/2015) and AT&T can hit 15.00 per megabyte (priced 8/6/2015). One map screen can be a megabyte in size. You can save the purchasing cost by using the app only a couple of times.
We are all about the snorkeling, but we threw in a whole bunch of other “things to do” while you are in Grand Cayman. Restaurants, Dive Shops, Shipwrecks and other interesting places to see! We even put in where to pick up some groceries (and libations).
The App is targeted to new visitors to Cayman, but there are great benefits for even veteran Cayman devotees!
Our aim is to help you find all the spots and make it easy to get to them. With the App you can take the site listings and locations with you in one easy package. Enjoy a snorkel spot and see what other interesting treats Cayman has to offer nearby and how easy it is to find them by using our map and your GPS.
We have not gone into great detail as to what you might see at each spot, because they all have diverse and interesting marine life and we do not want to give too much away. The unique features of each site get mentioned, but remember, the sea is an every changing environment so what you experience from year to year will change.
We just added the Fish ID screens. You will be able to identify some of the most common fish, and now birds, you encounter.
Fixed bug that misplaced Anchor Point Snorkel spot. Sorry about that.
Add an interesting fish we saw and photographed, the Flying Gurnard. Magnificent set of wings, but doesn't fly through the air sadly. We were snorkeling out by the reef at Morritts and saw this winged bottom feeder. The app will update the weather data better if you have allowed network access.

Loved using this App!
Just before our recent yearly trip to Cayman we got this app. It’s dynamite in showing the snorkel places and the maps are very helpful in getting around the island. I don’t know how long the app has been around but I wish we had found it years ago. Good for finding restaurants to.

Fantastic, glad you found the app helpful, that’s why we created it. Lots of underwater beauty in the best snorkeling on the planet.
Thanks for taking the time to review us.
I have been coming to the Cayman Islands for 16 years and this app showed me several snorkel sites that I had never heard of before. It also has additional helpful information about the island. Great app!
Out of date
Spent day wasting time running around the island. This app would be bad for free. Certainly not worth buying. Maybe it was good at one point but now worse than useless for snorkeling.

Sorry you didn’t find the app useful. We were just on the island recently and certainly didn’t find anything out of date. From Barefoot beach to Turtle Point the snorkel spots are accurate and up to date. We use the app ourselves and other users have not had your experience. The ocean in constantly changing, wind currents, shore lines and the sea weed. If the North side of the island isn’t suitable try the south or west side. Check the weather for the wind direction and change your snorkel plans accordantly, there is a page in the app for that. Sorry once again your experience wasn’t good. We really shouldn’t be held responsible for weather or ocean conditions. You can email us right from the app if you discover changes we need to be aware of, or with any other concerns with the app or our data, we can help.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
