I love the CBC News app!

I live in the US, but this news app is like a “breath of fresh air” because all you get is unbiased, straight-forward news (similar to Reuter’s) WITHOUT all of the stupid commercial advertisements that render the majority of US news articles unreadable.

The advertisements on US news sites have gotten so bad that they cause the story’s content to “jump” constantly as ads are being loaded. I also love that I do NOT have to endure the endless, mind-numbingly stupid prompts instructing me to turn off ad-blockers in order to read an article!

CBC News provides important world news stories that load quickly on my iPhone. (The only time I might have an issue is when I click on a news article that’s linked to an American publication.)

It’s also good to see how the rest of the world views the US with all that’s currently been happening here!

CBC is the best! All of the rest (BING, Google, Apple News, et. al) don’t compare and ultimately drive me crazy with their inundation of ads, auto-play of video content and pay-walls thresholds.

CBC News is an excellent news app! Keep up the great work. (Everyone else, take note... this is how News should be presented!)

Straight forward news

I like that it doesn’t have sensationalized titles. I also like that I can view local news or view national news. Lastly, I like the coverage of news happening with First Nations communities and with the territories. You don’t hear much about them but it’s important to be aware of the struggles and successes of our fellow Canadians living up north.

I love the CBC and the CBC news but this app is lousy

I like CBC news. But after two years, I am deleting the app because of ad boobytraps. I understand they need to include ads. I have no problem with that. But a lot of the ads are boobytraps - if you merely touch them while scrolling, you get a pop to a browser window and often then to the App Store. It makes scrolling through a story almost impossible. So this is a fail for the CBC. I guess I’ll go to the website occasionally and also use other news apps. The NYT is the king of them all anyway.
