Buggy app

The app appears to work less well than the previous version. I am writing this review after the app for the third time asked me to set everything up as new — skipping the questions brought me to the normal main screen and I was able to connect to the device by pressing the power button. Everything was once again blanked (and this is after some interaction with customer service over similar issue with the previous but seemingly better app). Since the developer has responded to similar reviews above about the whole Bluetooth pin thing—reading the document, Radio Frequency Wireless
Technology in Medical Devices put out by the FDA to govern such things, this appears to very much be a design choice rather than other acceptable security practices (like my AirPods only being pairable with one Apple account unless I unlock them from my account). It actually makes things less secure. Also of note in the above document is subsection b of chapter three that addresses quality of service. This is failing for the current app and prevents users from using the device as intended.

CeCe Migraine Management App: A Buggy Downgrade from Cefaly

The transition from the Cefaly Migraine App to the CeCe Migraine Management App has been a disappointing downgrade, despite an improved graphical user interface. While the new app looks more modern and polished, it suffers from severe functionality issues that significantly hinder the user experience.

Major Issues:
1. Constant Pairing Issues – Unlike the previous app, which maintained a stable connection, CeCe requires users to re-pair the device every single time they use it. This adds unnecessary frustration, especially for those who rely on quick and easy access for migraine relief.
2. Blank Screen Bug – Even after successfully pairing, the app often goes completely blank, rendering the device unusable. This glitch makes it nearly impossible to start a session without restarting the app multiple times.
3. Treatment Interruptions – When the device does manage to function, users report that both Acute and Preventative treatments stop on their own and reset without warning. This not only disrupts migraine relief but also undermines the effectiveness of the treatments.

While the new CeCe app has potential, its instability makes it a step backward from the previous Cefaly app. Users expect a migraine management tool to be reliable, not frustratingly unpredictable. Until these bugs are addressed, many users may find themselves longing for the previous version—or looking for alternative solutions altogether.

Lots of things to fix

I am a new Cefaly user so I can’t compare this version of the app to the previous one. However, like others have said, the whole thing is pretty clunky. I basically stopped using it after only a few treatments and will just use my device on its own since the app didn’t seem to be doing anything correctly. I wasn’t getting an accurate read on the strength, my treatment sessions wouldn’t log, and I had to re-pair my device every single time. It’s really disappointing, since the “Connect” feature of the Cefaly Connect model - one of the biggest selling points of the device imo - is essentially useless until the app is improved significantly. I hope they can take the feedback and make it more reliable, user friendly, and intuitive. For many migraine patients like myself, collecting symptom data, seeing trends, and keeping track of treatments is essential to managing the disease, and this app currently doesn’t help with any of that, despite its promises to do so.
