Chaos Game App is a fun, interactive and intriguing Mathematics game for iPhones & iPads that teaches the science of Chaos Theory.
Have you ever wondered why meteorologists can’t accurately predict the weather past three days? Or how one car on the road can suddenly and unpredictably affect thousands of other cars? Or how one investor trading in the stock market can affect millions of other investors? If it’s complex in nature, there’s a high probability that Chaos Theory is at work. Chaos Game App helps you understand what’s really going on when the world around you becomes chaotic and unpredictable.
In 1988, the iterative mathematician, Michael Barnsley, developed algorithms and coined “The Chaos Game," an ingenious technique that reveals this convergence and order in nature. His intent was to show that natural complex systems have an underlying order derived through random events; while at the same time, reveal complexity through basic equations.
Now with your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, you can experience what Barnsley and others discovered; and understand, a bit more, about the brilliance and wonder of random order in nature.
Rotational additions for iPad:
- New Reset canvas button for rotation.
- Wider delay slider, color menu and vertice menu.
- PLAY/STOP/RESUME button fixed width.
- Touch points for rotation on all iPad size screens.
- Now fully supports rotational touch on iPad Pro 12.9 inch.
Ratings and Reviews
Wow! A wonderful approach for understanding random order in nature!
If you want to begin to understand the order behind random daily experiences in your life, this is the app for you! Fun, intriguing and fantastic examples of the fundamentals of order from Chaos we can all easily understand. I like that I can start with my own initial condition by tapping anywhere on the canvas to start the game or tap start to let the game choose randomly. Simple. No numbers to enter. The help and explanation in the app is thorough yet easy to understand. The app even has the ability to share the concept of Chaos theory with others by saving or sharing custom images. Well thought out app. Great job!
Not for a dollar
I mean don’t get me wrong, it’s neat, but there should be the option to set initial conditions and see what happens.
