Something I needed

Omg, I was looking for something to keep track of my habits and this helped me. I didn’t know where to look, so I looked in TikTok as it sometimes is not exactly trustworthy. Since this wasn’t a major account, I really didn’t know to trust this. I got the app and just created an account today, and let me tell you, I am AMAZED! No forceful reminder that says “hey wanna up date to premium?”, there’s a separate link for you to subscribe. This app is everything, and it can be used for both personal use and family use. I really am hoping to get the best out of this, thanks a lot again! ❤️

Promising Potential, Bad UX

I use Chap Premium, and I really wanted to like it. Our family setup is pretty common: parents use iPhones, and the kids share a Samsung Galaxy Tab, each with their own profile. From what I understand, the ideal flow should be simple… parents install the app, set up the family, and create kid accounts. But that’s not what happens. You must not assume every kid in a family will have a phone, or access to parents’ devices to access their accounts.

The actual setup process is confusing and unintuitive. Inviting users feels clunky, setting up the family structure is unclear, and there’s very little guidance during key parts of the onboarding. And this is coming from someone who works in UI/UX design, so I can only imagine how much harder it would be for a non-technical parent.

Chap has a great concept, and I appreciate the focus on safety and privacy. But the user experience needs serious improvement, especially for families with mixed devices and shared tablets. Hoping to see updates soon that make the setup process match the simplicity that parents expect.

So much potential

This app has the potential to be great and so far I’m loving it. My main problem with the app right now is that the due dates and scheduling is a little bit confusing. If I want a chore to be repeated every 3 days, I would assume I should tell the app to repeat the chore every 3 days and that if I finish the chore a day early, the next due date would be a day earlier. Instead, the app keeps the original due dates so my chore will be due in 4 days instead of 3 if I finish it a day early. You can sort of get around this by choosing to repeat 2 times a week every 1 week, but then I’m forced to think about when the last time I did the chore was.
