- I still do not have access to the GPT-4 API, so this is UNTESTED, but users have said it works, so I have added support to choose the GPT-4 and GPT-4-32k models.
NEW: EDIT AND DELETE MESSAGES in a thread -- Even responses from the API.
- NOTE: The edit button also allows you to select portions of a message instead of the whole thing.
- This helps you be able to manage the context of a conversation as it evolves, removing messages that were unhelpful so they dont cost further tokens. (longer chats cost more tokens as it requires more context processing.)

Hey ! Just wanted to say how awesome your ChatAI app is. I've tried a few other apps on IOS, but they always seemed overpriced or had some kind of predatory pricing/data model. Your app is seriously a breath of fresh air! I love that it uses my own API and saves chats locally, and the native interface is so much faster than the web interface. It's also great that it's a lot cheaper than having to pay for ChatGPT Plus just for the reliability and speed (which, after recent events with OpenAI, is questionable anyway).
I can't believe that you made this app for yourself and decided to share it with others. You’re awesome :).
Thank you SO MUCH for creating such a fantastic app! I'll definitely be recommending it to my friends and family.
Just a couple ideas for the future:
1. Implementing a dark-mode
2. Being able to save custom, user-made personality prompts in the existing menu you created (to avoid having to copy and paste the settings over one once you run out of tokens in a conversation)
3. Perhaps sync conversations over iCloud? Not sure if that’s possible or not.
4. When running on an M1 Mac, hitting Enter on the keyboard does not send the conversation (you have to manually click send each time).
Edit: oh and I forgot to mention - even though there isn’t a native macOS app yet, it actually works really well on there, too :).
Great app! I just have 2 issues with it
I love this app, I’m glad I found it through a Reddit post, I use it very often, and mainly have no issues except these two problems.
GPT-4 can not handle long or semi-long prompts. It will take forever to load and then it will just say “the request timed out” and trying to regenerate it will just produce the same results. Sometimes the prompts will work and sometimes it doesn’t. it’s just a bit annoying when I try to regenerate it again and again and it keeps failing.
Secondly, I was trying to delete old conversations with the AI, and it somehow deleted the ones I was still actively using and I couldn’t find them anymore, so i was a bit annoyed by that. Possibly adding a trash folder could be helpful so you can restore a prompt if it accidentally gets deleted.
Other than that this is a well made app. I will continue to use it.
App is great! Consider a less generic name?
The app is a breeze without absurd month subscription. However the name is very generic. Search ChatAi in AppStore and you’re flooded with other nonsense. You should get yourself a cool name.
