  • Most handy app I have

    Barbasaurus

I've been using Cheatsheet for years and continue to find new handy uses for it. It's so quick at filling out common forms. My home address is rather long & I really love being able to enter it with a single click! My only tiny complaint is that it disappears on some web forms and I actually have to type in everything that I'm used to relying on Cheatsheet to do for me. I really miss it.

  • Great "Today Screen" notes App.

    Apps-junkie

This was the very 1st widget or lock/today screen app that I tried, and was so impressed that I downloaded several other widget apps for clocks, calendars, notes, etc. Cheatsheet became the standard by which other note widgets got judged, and they all were proved to be inferior in some way & some got deleted after a few minutes of testing. You can select one of 49 simple icons to display as a "hint" of what the note contains. And you can select 1 of 3 layouts to display the icon & notes on your screen (an app even having settings options is unusual - most other developers must think "minimal" or "clean" means that an app should have no options or menu and the app should not be user friendly, and default settings should be "one size fits all". Wrong- I want to select several options from a menu & I want to change settings or select options). You don't have to settle for dull minimalism; you can even type colorful emoji characters in your notes. Ability to delete a note on the screen would be useful. As would simple editing while in "lock screen". Or a simple checklist/to-do list might be desired by some users.

  • Fantastic Product!

I am a real fan of Cheatsheet, both for my iPhone and my iPad. I can quickly tap and provide and personal contact info, including any of my several email addresses, but have also found it a convenient way to provide info for all of my vehicles, insurance info, and some other text that I have to provide repeatedly. It is far easier than Apple’s text replacement capability where you have to associate each replacement with a shortcut, which is always problematic if you happen to type this shortcut letters for anything else and the substitute text just appears, plus in Apple’s text replacement you cannot have line breaks (carriage returns). With Cheatsheet, I can access all of my stored text strings strings as a separate keyboard. It’s super easy and extremely convenient. Support for the product is also EXCELLENT! The developer is very responsive. Great job!!!

  • Sync can sometimes delete content

Very useful app, however it comes with a significant risk compared to using OneNote or Simplenote. While those aforementioned tools have been reliable through many difficult-connection scenarios, Cheatsheet fails during even the most optimal conditions if changes are made on 2 different devices before it gets around to syncing. This seems to lie in the sync solution it relies on, leaning on iCloud vs a native solution. This means that unless you remember to go and manually get the Sync button within settings, your app isn't syncing until around midnight when your device automatically backups the rest of iCloud's stuff. This is almost dealbreakingly detrimental if you want to use this as an app to keep everything in sync, as it leads to frequently *LOSING notes, at random. I shouldn't need to keep backups for a note app, the notes should BE the backup for proper documentation.

    Developer Response

Thanks for the feedback! Syncing should be quick and continuous. If the app is not syncing reliably, please contact adam@overdesigned.net and I will walk you through a fix.

  • Simple! Easy as it gets.

I love this app. I can write a quick note to myself in a tap or two. The true joy of Cheatsheet are the complications on the watch. I can put a todo without a date or time, in Cheatsheet on the phone, and it instantly shows in the phone widget, AND the watch face. I like this because it keeps the first cheat sheet item in front of me all the time on the watch without nagging me, irritating me, or getting lost in a slew of calendar events and reminders. And when I tap on the complication it pulls up the watch version on the watch and shows me all my cheats. The only issue I have ever had with it is the Red icons. I dunno why, but the red has bugged me for a long time. Selection of color would be more interesting. Ok that’s been changed, and now there’s color choices; yay! thank you!!

  • Great product… Perfect name

Cheatsheet is a great product that has saved time and embarrassment. I first used it as a scratchpad but I quickly appreciated its usefulness as my memory-assist (call it "off-line storage").I use it to capture obscure information that I might want to recall quickly. Examples are formulas for calculating electrical current, dew-point, mm-to-inch conversions, and even neighbors' names.Cheatsheet is NOT a place to store sensitive passwords as the security isn't designed for that purpose. The very-affordable upgrade to Cheatsheet Pro has given me additional ways to organize and rapidly retrieve things that would otherwise be lost in the moment. Great product with real productivity advantages!
