It is never legal for a player to make a move that puts or leaves the player's own king in check.

Not bad. Not good either.

After a recent upgrade in which they said improvements were made to make the app more competitive and enforce fair play, it took a turn for the worse. My points went from over 18,000 to 2,500. I used to win most of my games. All of the sudden I’m losing the majority of my games. Now it feels like I’m playing against a bot.
Still hasn’t fixed its misunderstanding of chess rules when it comes to long castling. Your rook CAN pass through an attack!

Playing with friends, it’s great. CPU, terrible.

This is a great app for playing with friends online. That said, there could be some improvements made. The stats page is completely useless and inaccurate. If you’re playing the cpu, the game is definitely unbalanced. The game will be declared a draw if you corner the king or eliminate most of the cpu pieces almost immediately. But if you get cornered, the cpu gets endless moves to win the game and avoid a draw. The cpu is mind numbingly predictable. There are other issues but on the whole, it’s a pretty decent app to connect with friends and have a good time so I don’t want to beat the developers up too much; they prob have no budget and it’s free to us. The very rapid draw declaration when I’m winning the game is super annoying.

Not enough real people play

This game’s online matches mostly consist of AI that makes no mistakes. I downloaded this app to play other people. Playing other humans is more forgiving than playing a perfect chess computer. It’s mostly frustrating. Not even fun anymore. I’m giving it two stars because it’s helped me get better at chess but I hardly run into real people…and when I do, it’s people who like to harass you and ask all kinds of personal questions 🙃

Developer Response ,

Hi, there are no bots in online mode, saying anything else is a lie.
