A great self-guided tour of downtown Chicago

This tour of Chicago's Loop is entertaining and informative. Leveraging audio from popular host Geoffrey Baer, this app takes you around downtown Chicago and shows you why it is the birthplace of the skyscraper. A must have for any architecture fan and a nice escape for tourists or locals who want to learn more about the Second City.

Wish you were there

I am supposing that the designer knew that pictures would not replace being there. I was born in Chicago so probably I have spent my life looking at these buildings. Therefore my use of the app simply was intended to enhance my knowledge of the city... I take the walking tour everyday just going about my life. And so I did the forbidden & decided to tour by sofa (Homer Simpson style). On this level I found myself wishing that there was a 'Sofa' option available with more photos & and the ability to zoom. And from this point of view I'd say that the stars this app earns are stars that Chicago's architecture earns. It's like taking a tour of Hooter's with app assist. If you enjoyed the view, who deserves the stars? But seriously. The history & details are great, thanks WTTW!

Comprehensive

This is a comprehensive guide of important landmarks and popular buildings in the loop. If you have an hour or two of free time while in the loop, this is a great way to be 'intimate' with Chicago's architecture from the best Chicago advocate there is - Geoffrey Baer. Excellent guide for visitors and residents alike.
