The 2024 Official Race App features unlimited live race day runner tracking, professional athlete profiles, live broadcast streaming, real-time weather, an interactive course map, participant bib share and more. Fans can submit a digital cheer through the App for the chance for your message to be displayed on the Bank of America Chicago Marathon course as your participant goes by. Visit the “Cheer” page in the app to submit your message.

Barely functional enough to avoid 1 star
No way for runners to truly claim a profile, defaults to kilometers with no way to convert to miles, live tracking not very functional, no way for trackers to share real-time messages with runners, and no (easy) way for runners to access messages sent. And it wasn't even released until 3 days before the race. Expected much more from the official app for a world major
Tracking my friend - Great
(1) The setup procedure was quick and easy
(2) The tracking map was spot on. It had my friend tracked that we had no problem spotting him and cheering him on.
(3) I was able to switch the map from Ks to miles

Helped me reach PR is Chicago
This app definitely helped me reached my PR! I run with my phone (doing so for years) with the tall building my GPS watch is off... I tracked myself on the app. After crossing some of the timing mats I checked the app. It shows your estimated time at that pace. I knew when to slow my pace or pick it up. Was kike my own personal pacer!
