New update, new bugs
So I’ve been using this app for some time now. Been a paying user for most of the time. Really enjoy using the app. The most recent update makes the UI look better, and added in a much-needed ability to hit the “back” button if it’s taking too long to connect to someone. It was really obnoxious having the close and reopen the app when it was taking too long. So that’s really nice. The friends list thing is nice as well, so good job implementing that.
Couple new bugs though. It no longer shows when someone leaves a conversation. The conversation just hangs in limbo. It’s a little annoying. And the scrolling on your messages page hardly works. I find myself having to delete conversations just to be able to open conversations toward the bottom of the list. So if you could address those two issues, the app would be in good shape.
Developer Response ,
Thank you very much for your review, regarding the scrolling issue, we fixed this and will be soon releasing a new version. For the other one (not showing you that the other user left), this is a terrible bug we were not able to reproduce within our devices and would really appreciate your help in catching it, can you please send us an email to email@example.com mentioning the email you use for the AppStore and we will invite you to a testing version that can give us better logs?
We would really appreciate that, thank you!
Somewhat solid iPhone app, but please update the iPad app
The iPhone version of this app has seen many improvements over the last year, but it also has critical bugs. What’s the point of skip and accept buttons if you can’t see the messages that the stranger is sending without first tapping accept? There’s still a bug where every so often a chat with a stranger will suddenly end after you press the button to send a message, which has persisted for months now. More recently, a bug was introduced where, occasionally, tapping a notification to open a message from an added user will cause the message to vanish completely.
I have been a paying user of this app for 10 months now, and by far my biggest disappointment has been the lack of a competent iPad app. There is absolutely no proper support for Slide Over or Split View, which is absolutely an abomination on my 12.9 inch iPad Pro; it is ridiculous that I have to have Chitter use up my entire screen to even work properly, not to mention the lack of usage of a two pane view controller like other messaging apps. Because of these major faults, I don’t have the iPad app installed on any of my iPads, and I have severe doubts about the ability to use iCloud to sync my existing chats between my iPhone and my iPad. Any update on this would be greatly appreciated, would bump this review to at least four stars (pending those other bugs being fixed), and help me to feel like I’m not being ripped from my money every month.
Developer Response ,
thank you for your review,
1- the skip and accept buttons are required from Apple (trust me, we tried), it wasn't initially there in our first version but was later enforced
2- I suspect the bug where the app skips the other person when you try to send them a message is actually because you can leave by swiping (I know, we probably failed to introduce this properly), sorry! We will try to improve it soon
3- Thank you for reporting this, we weren't aware of it, we will be looking into it now!
4- I agree that we haven't been paying enough attention to iPad users experience, but this is basically because of the fact that iPad users are not many, and we are paying most of our attention to the most critical things (bugs or features). However, I will deliver your concerns to the team and see what we can do for you
5- For iCloud syncing, it can sync your friends but not your conversations (chat history), and you can only use the app on one device at a time (can't simultaneously chat from two devices). So, I suggest you stick to the iPhone version if you want to keep your chatting history (we plan to improve this later but this is how it's implemented now)
We really appreciate the fact that you have been a user for 10 months (remind us when we reach our anniversary, we will have a gift for you :D), and we will do our best to resolve all the bugs you mentioned.
Hear me out
Most of the conversations start with “M 17” or “F 20” which just means they’re age and sex. If they don’t like your age they leave the chat. So the next stranger I began the conversation with “Before the whole sex and age thing do you like scary movies?” The conversation went well after that. During a conversation you can request the person to be your friend. However, towards the end the other person couldn’t see my texts or vice versa. I would get actual notifications on my phone but when I clicked on the app there was nothing. I went to the support part and sent multiple msgs but nothing. When you get the app, it only asks your sex and name. So there’s no real part support can contact you, except for in the app. I don’t want to erase and start all over because I liked this friend I met. The problem is, I can’t talk to them anymore because the app won’t let me :/
