* Chord Pickout supports music that is stored directly in your iOS device. Songs in iCloud as well as songs protected by DRM are not supported. However, feel free to save audio files to Dropbox, then export the songs while specifying Chord Pickout as a destination.
* Although the recognized chords are very close, they may not exactly match the original score.
* Only major, minor and major seventh chords are recognized. Complex notations such as add9 or sus4 are not displayed.

Won’t open

I’m changing my review. The developer obviously listens to their clients! The app was updated and now works (opens). I loaded a pretty basic song, had it analyze the chords and it got the majority of the chords correct compared to the actual chart for the song! I can see how more complex songs would be more difficult, but you can’t fault the app on this extremely difficult task. Good job on this app

The best I've tried

There are no chord recognition apps out there that are 100%, but this one does a much better job with complicated songs that other apps have failed on for me. Even when it does not get the courts 100% right (it seems to have a tendency to detect chord changes when there aren't any, but complicated things are happening in the melody), it gets enough of them right to give me a foundation to work out the rest of the song.

Don't Waste Your $2.

I don't need this at all, I play by ear and I read music. I teach music and so I'm always looking for tools to share with my students. I thought that this would be a good tool, boy was I wrong. It can't even find the key the song is in, yet along the chords.

Every song it transcribed this app said it was in A# which is Bb for some. I used several different style songs and even songs that had a basic 1 5 6 4 progression with just a piano and vocals another with just guitar and it misread the whole entire thing. 4 chords and not only was it in the wrong key it was the wrong chords.

Do yourself a favor save your $2.
