Chronicle Pro is all about eliminating financial surprises and helping you understand your spending. Here are some of the ways Chronicle saves you time and money (and reduces stress, too):
- Never Forget A Bill
With notifications, and upcoming bills in your menu bar and notification center, Chronicle will always keep you up-to-date.
- See How Much Is OK To Spend
Chronicle takes into account your monthly income, your bills, and even bills you have to set aside a little for each month (such as insurance payments, annual memberships, etc), and tells you how much money you can safely spend each month.
- Plan For Expenses
Forecast View shows you upcoming bills months in advance.
- Know How Much To Save
Amount-To-Save feature calculates how much you need to save each month for bills that repeat less often, like an annual insurance bill or car registration.
- Eliminate Surprises
Intelligent Estimated Amount Due feature estimates how much is due for bills that vary, like credit cards or utilities, using your payment history and the time of year.
- Remove the Hassle From Paying & Keeping Track of Bills
Pay bills online and log them in seconds using Chronicle's integrated browser, and keep proof of all your payments, including storing receipts.
- Understand Your Spending
With month-by-month payment history, and annual reports, you can break down your spending by bill or by specific tags, so you can understand where your money is going.
If you pay bills, you need Chronicle. It gives you peace of mind and control of your financial future. One late payment can wreak havoc on your credit score, leading to higher interest rates and denied loans—in short, completely affecting your financial life. With Chronicle, you can make sure that never happens.
Plus, Chronicle can sync with the available iOS version, so you always have your bills available wherever you go.

NEW in 9.7: Significant improvements to the "More Actions" button on the Overview and Bill Detail screens. The button will now remember your last action for each bill, and you can click the button to perform that action. You can still click the dropdown arrow beside the button to perform additional actions. You can also configure Chronicle to always display a specific action on the button for quick access (such as "Pay Online" or "Log Partial").
Fixes in 9.7.2
- Fixes a crash under macOS 10.11
- Fixes a potential crash when using Chronicle Cloud.

Great Way to Keep Track of Subscriptions & Bills
This has been a great tool for me; I used to forget about a lot of the subscriptions I had and it would confuse me when I looked at my wallet. Since pretty much everything these days is switching to subscription-based models, this can be invaluable for keeping track of everything.
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I really wish the Mac version had Touch ID integration with logging in instead of just a password. The iPhone version supports Touch ID and Face ID, so it's strange that isn't supported on the Mac.
Six Years of Chronicle
I wrote the review below and still stand by what I wrote about Chronicle previously. I would be lost concerning keeping track of my bills. I still own two houses and Chronicle Pro helps me keep all my bills paid on time. The reminders work great and being able to see the history of each bill is a real help for planning and projecting what seasonal bills will look like. My wife oftern asks what bill is due, or if we paid such and such and I can be anywhere that I can connect to the Internet to tell her the status of a bill. Chronicle Pro is a great time saving utility and one that I rely upon almost daily.
I have been using Chronicle in some form or another for the past five years and I am completely satisified with the application. Since 2002 I owned three houses over two Western states. For years the only way I could keep track of my bills was by using a spreadsheet and hardcopy of bills as receipts that I had devised for tracking purposes. In 2014 I saw a review of Chronicle in Macworld and decided to give it a try. I loaded it to all my Apple devices so I could track the more than 30 bills and payments that came due each month from any device and in any state. Chronicle has certainly made my bill tracking much easier. I would recommend Chronicle to anyone needing a straight forward tracking program for their bills.
Version 8 on Mac not working as well as 7
Purchased version 8 to use on my iMac (High Sierra) and I’ve had a problem every time I go to edit a bill. The program corrupts and the window fails to load. I have to replace/rename the database file with the icloud synced version to get my data back. I discovered that after days of testing, since I never got any actual help from customer service. I sent them my crash logs but I guess it was too much trouble for them to solve the problem. So, once again I tried to edit a recurring date, and the same thing. Reloaded the file from the icloud version to get the app functioning again, but clearly I can’t edit any existing bills. In the early days of the app, customer support was great, very fast response and efficient. This last time, though, it was a couple weeks and I still never received a resolution. Guess I will not be able to edit my bills. When I try to edit them on my iphone app, the app crashes every time. Now looking for a new program and very sorry I updated to version 8.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
