Great App, Responsive Support
Chrono Plus is a great tool for Cloud-based time tracking. I haven't found any others that do it so well. I use it across all my devices without issue. Exporting reports feature is great, but mostly I just use it to transpose onto my own invoices.
Form factor is great, and my FAVORITE feature has to be innactivity. You can set the interval, but after 5 minutes of innactivity, the app "soft-pauses" to check if you're still here. If yes, it runs the time back up as if it were never paused. That's saved me quite a few times.
It's a shame the app hasn't been updated since 2019; there are a few bugs here 'n there, though nothing major. I've had the server glitch and wipe all data once, but Customer Support quickly and painlessly reversed that. The biggest thing is that since Big Sur's release, the menu bar icon isn't resposnive, and that makes the time hard to read at times. Overall, this is a great app.
Very Good Tracker, But...
In general, Chrono Plus works quite well. I’ve set up several projects, each having several tasks. Very easy with this app’s intuitive user interface. The menubar icon keeps it readily available to select a task (or create a new one), and then to start and stop timing.
However, Chrono Plus lacks a reporting capability (other than generating invoices). While it is possible to display the history of an individual project and its tasks, or just a single task or “All” tasks (without identifying the projects with which they are associated), there is no way to print or save this information. A simple list and a CSV file would provide lots of flexibility for users to display or report on that information in any way they wish to.
Customer Support was great. When I asked about Chrono Plus’s reporting capabilities, Support responded quickly with accurate and relevant information.
great for my basic needs
I don't need to create reports, so I don't ask much from Chrono Plus. I just use it to track my own hours across the various tasks and projects that make up my job, mostly because for the motivation that comes with "being on the clock." I only rated it four stars because it has some minor glitches, including that parts of the interface sometimes lock up (though I've never lost data) and that the pop-up windows aren't well managed (one appears behind the main interface, so requires manually moving it every time; and the no-activity prompt can get "lost" on one of the multiple desktops I often have open, as opposed to staying with the main interface).
