Cipher routes every message through your iCloud — never through us. We hold zero keys, see zero metadata, and let you burn every chat in one tap.
No servers. No tracking. No ads.
Cipher is the only end-to-end encrypted messenger that doesn't have its own backend. There's nothing to subpoena, nothing to leak, and nothing for us to read. Apple's CloudKit relays the ciphertext between you and your contact — Cipher itself runs only on your devices.
HOW IT WORKS
• Sign in once with your existing iCloud account. No phone number, no email, no "Cipher login."
• Cipher generates Curve25519 identity keys on-device, stored in your iOS Keychain. The private halves never leave your device.
• When you add a contact (by QR code, AirDrop, or iMessage invite), Cipher runs an X3DH handshake and starts a Signal-style Double Ratchet session.
• Every message you send is encrypted with ChaCha20-Poly1305 before it hits CloudKit. We can't read it; Apple can't read it; nobody else can either.
