Almost Perfect

This app is almost exactly what I (and it appears many others!) have been seeking. The issue, and it’s a big issue, is that the brightness level does not automatically adjust along with the color temperature. Given that our circadian rhythm receives it’s signals from both the color temperature AND the brightness level of the light, this app falls short and is not a functional solution.

Note: I tried emailing the developer but haven’t received a reply. Unsure if this app is still being supported or updated. Will continue to search for something else that is hits the mark.

Does What It Claims

This is a very good app and does what it claims. The fact that it is free (as of this review) makes it all the better. It’s not a 100% match to f.lux defaults but that appears to be a limitation of the bulbs. The blubs only seem to go to 2700k whereas flux, at least on mac, defaults down to 1900k. You can alter the colors in f.lux to match the blubs or just accept the room won’t be the exact same color as your monitor. My only complaint is that you have to go into preferences if you want to alter brightness. Like during the day when i’m at 6000k I might want 100% brightness but at night when I’m at 2700k (I opted to adjust my f.lux settings to match the bulb limitations) I want to drop the brightness to ~20%. To do this I have to go into preferences. If there was a slider directly in the dropdown that would easily make this a 5 star app. Regardless, great app. I look forward to using this more.

Doesn’t work

Cannot connect to hub, as the Search button doesn’t work. App was last updated in 2016, I guess it is not compatible with the rest of my setup.
