Pay for your laundry with your phone.

Make doing the laundry less of a hassle with a mobile app that's as easy-to-use as our washing machines and dryers! The Circuit Laundry Plus app* lets you pay for your laundry in seconds... just turn up at your nearest Circuit launderette, load your laundry, choose your machine and payment method, select the programme you want to start - job done!

Once the washer or dryer gets going the app also gives you a countdown** that tells you how long there is to go until your laundry is done.

* Please note that your Circuit Laundry Plus app account is separate to your laundry card account you access from the Circuit website. Sign up is not required for the Circuit Laundry Plus, but does offer additional features such as seeing current room availability and account funding. Balances from your laundry card cannot be transferred to your Circuit app account and vice versa.

**The app will rely on your phone having a wi-fi, 3G, 4G or 5G signal inside the laundry room to activate the machines and also to see the countdown on the cycle if you leave to do something else while your wash completes. As long as you're connected, you can see how long is left on your chosen cycle and get on with other things instead of waiting in the launderette.

You accept that you have a non-exclusive licence to use the app. You agree not to copy the app or infringe our intellectual property rights in the app.

The minimum amount of top-up credit you can buy is £5.00. Your payment will be processed through a Payment Provider and Circuit will not hold any card details.

You can apply for a refund of part-used top-up credit by emailing us at apprefund@circuit.co.uk with details of registered email address, the date of the in-App purchase, the amount of credit purchased, and the amount of credit to be refunded. No refund will be given on balances of less than £5.00. Refunds will incur an administration charge of £3.00, which will be deducted directly from the refund value. Refunds will be made using the payment method used for the purchase. No refund will be processed for any free credit or voucher top ups. AWFUL

I never write reviews so my awful experience has really compelled me to want to write one. It’s extremely buggy and the machines are also too strong that it can really wear and tear your clothes like putting in holes, which I know they won’t compensate me for. The payment issue is ongoing it’s like they can’t solve a problem to save their life. I always have to use PayPal instead of just using my credit card which is annoying and on top of the prices… but the worst has to be their refund policy. They require an administration fee of £3 and then they won’t issue refunds less than £5… so you’ll just have money sitting in their for them to use like a bank and then they won’t let you refill your account for anything less than £5, like what if I needed exactly £4.20 or something to be able to fully use my balance?? The fact they have a minimum top up (which would be fine if they gave you refunds free with no minimum balance required) but CHARGE you for a refund and then require you to have at least £5 remaining is just awful. I don’t know how they are functioning and get shut down.

Worthless

I would give this laundry ‘service’(more of a disservice really!) zero stars if possible. Try as I might to find them, Circuit has no redeeming qualities: the app is stupid and hardly ever works, machines are always broken, customer service is entirely useless and mind-numbingly clueless, and prices are exorbitantly high. The website is out of date and lists incorrect information, and if the stars and planets align perfectly to actually start a machine for you, good luck getting your clothing dry!

Another serious complaint is that the old Circuit app is still available to download and add money to for some reason. Thus, if you unfortunately do so by mistake, you are scammed out of whatever you paid. The old app just eats your money and you can’t transfer it to the new one. I find this to be highly suspect behavior and an unethical business practice.

Universities and whomever else need to go back to good old fashioned coin operated machines. The era in which the tyranny of Circuit Laundry reigns supreme with its claws deep in the monopoly of student accommodations has long since dawned. Its rule must be brought to an end.

The worst laundry service

Where to start?

You are entirely unable to transfer funds over from the previous circuit app after they updated, so that’s just lost money I guess. Thanks for that.

Price gouging students on laundry services. This is the most I have ever seen laundry machines cost. Brilliant.

On top of the overly expensive pricing, I rarely have a dry that actually dries my clothes. Often clothes come out damp or in some cases outright wet. This always happens regardless of maintenance reports. Love.

There have been several occurrences of machines taking money off of my account for a wash but the machines don’t start or respond. Sometimes they will have error messages or they will just not respond at all.

The app is extremely frustrating as it has several bugs that interfere with payments, adding money to accounts, etc that make doing laundry into a nightmare.

Many times most machines are not working in the laundry building so all the residents are forced to wait for one machine to become free.

I have been in buildings that use circuit for about a year and it has always been an extremely expensive and flawed service that does not seem to change or improve in the face of extreme issues. Uni’s and dorm buildings should absolutely take their businesses elsewhere.
