This is free so really the questions are, is it worth the download and if so, is it worth spending money? I'd say yes to both. It can be a little boring as you get started but at a point you'll have so much cash you can just enjoy your little islands :) And buying small amounts of gold for a few bucks can be totally worthwhile here, espcially since there are daily challenges where you get gold back for spending it.Pros: can be totally free and still really fun, much better graphics than any of the other City Island games, this one is not so cartoonish and looks realisticCons: buying large amounts of cash or gold is absurdly expensive, very long wait times for "construction" (up to a week!!), sometimes it stalls when you try to quit, there's zero info for you on how to play so you'll waste a lot of assets at first trying to figure it outIt's a sweet little game, I'm hooked!

My favorite game was the Build-a-Lot series, but since I purchased a Mac, I haven’t been able to play it. I found this game and it has pros and cons. The graphics are very nice and the scenery is very pretty. It doesn’t have a very good tutorial, though, and the building time for houses, businesses, etc. is very long - I’m not sure what the point of that is, but it is annoying. Also, I haven’t figured out how to turn off the music or exit the game with an exit button, which is also annoying. The other con for me, because I’m not going to spend my real money, is that it takes so long to buy adjacent property, so you can go to different islands or just expand the first city - it keeps getting more expensive and it takes forever. So, it’s not a game you want to stay in for very long. It also keeps telling me that the people are not happy and to build a Ship Wreck or other structure in the water, but there is not an area that is large enough to build them on, so that is frustrating. I agree with one of the other reviewers that if you do not stay in the game, your profits do not accumulate while you are out of the game - you have to be there to physically collect your money each time. I do like the fact that the developers do give you gold from time to time and money for progressing to the next level, which is very appreciated. It does show that the developers are not just doing it for the money. It has a lot of good things and some things that could be improved and hopefully, they will improve some of the cons I mentioned. I will keep plodding along, at least for now, and see how it progresses. It definitely has a lot of potential and I really like the overall concept. So, thanks to the developers for creating this game.

This is a really fun and addictive game, but it's also a little confusing. I never understood how to get more gold because there are so many things that cost a lot of gold in the game. I wish that you could move in more ways other than zooming in and out. Otherwise, it's pretty fun to play when you're bored. The graphics are fine, it never takes forever to load, and but when it gets dark and rainy that kinda bothers me because i can't see what's going on very well, but I like the idea. I love the detailed trees and beaches. I think a good new update for this game could be REAL places in the world and actual famous architectures from those places. Then it would seem less fake and fictional and you would feel like you're traveling the world which could make this game much more fun.

Love this game, very addictive and fun to play. Only problem I have come into is that the land prices jump tremendously all of a sudden. It doesn’t give you the time to gain the funds to purchase. I would recommend setting and locking the land prices even if the section is developed nearby it won’t jump in price. I’ve been working for 3 days just to increase my cashflow to be able to purchase the next section for over 700,000! I know that as soon as I do this, the smaller sections of land will probably jump to over a million. And I only have the one island I’m working with right now because I needed the cash to expand to this island, instead of paying to go on to another island.
