• Use your iPhone as an external camera with Continuity Camera
• Import video or GIF files

Edit

Create compelling video tutorials or screencasts to reach your online audience in a more personal way. Use short videos to promote and sell your products or create animated GIFs to enhance your social media posts. Animated GIFs are also great for designers and developers to communicate issues in projects or to create meaningful bug reports.

Additionally, Claquette can be integrated into your professional video editing workflow by upgrading to Claquette Pro. This unlocks exporters for Apple’s Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5. Visit our product page to learn more about all features.

Best in its class

Do yourself a favor an grab a copy of this. I was using Licecap before and tried a bunch of different capture tools. Not only Claquette produces artifact free and highly compressed videos/GIFs, it also has this visual indicator for people to see where you clicked.
From my side I always end up trimming and cropping videos to focus on just what I want, and if there is any improvement I would give as feedback to the devs are to have a mode where you can select the area to capture to avoid the crop step in the end.

GIF-tastic

I can’t speak to the pro offerings in Claquette, only to its animated GIF export, but what it does with GIFs is phenomenal. Claquette produces what everyone wants in a GIF: high quality with small filesize. Several advanced options are provided when exporting, but I haven’t had the need to adjust much of anything — the export quality is fantastic “out of the box”. The one quibble I have is what other users have expressed here: no importing of existing movie/video content. I use multiple apps that can generate motion content, so it’s a bit frustrating to have to physically play the media on-screen to get it into Claquette. But even with the added hassle, the efficient output that Claquette provides makes the effort worthwhile. Highly recommended.

Constantly overloading my storage, no option to solve this

I have tried to use this tool, which has tested successfully when using a bluetooth headset for recordings, to save job interviews for working with my coach. Everytime it maxes out my storage and the usability of the product to solve for where the file is located is inept. I expect to easily identify where the folder is on my Mac to clear out old recordings but that is not simple to do. Plus when I run out of storage, my recording stops immediately until I am done and I cannot try to start a new one during an interview. I recognize I don't pay for this but this is unacceptable and does not solve the job I am trying to do. Nor does it give me confidence or any desire to pay you for more value.

Developer Response ,

Hi Gkoeka,
Sorry to hear that our app is not working for you.
You can optimize your recordings for small file size by using the "Size" recording preset in the "Capture Content of:" popup button in the recording window. If you have any questions, please use the "Help" -> "Request support" menu item in the app.
with kind regards, Thomas
