Absolutely everything about this app and have for years, but the only thing is, the camera basically disappears when you first open up the app on iPad. It doesn’t align correctly and I can’t see the buttons or any of the other functions.
Starting today, I get an error saying “Image did not render and cannot be saved” whenever I try to take a photo. I’ve had Hipstamatic (now “Classic Camera”) on my phone for over ten years now, but lately I’ve noticed a lot more bugs and crashes—and now it can’t even save a photo, which is a huge problem for a *camera app*. I don’t know if this is Hipstamatic’s way of trying to push its longtime users over to the subscription model of the new app or what, but either these issues with the Classic Camera app need to be addressed or I’d like a refund for all the add-ons I’ve purchased over the years.
Everyone is so obsessed with the most common hashtag being "no filter" . Well this really isn't a filter its more the types of film and flashes, but the lenses I guess would be considered a filter, but I have most the pacs and what has made me absolutely in love with this type or types of cameras to use from, is the fashion pac that looks pretty amazing on more than just fashion. I am not so afraid of in-app purchases as long as it is less than a latte at Starbucks, cause you get full use of the app, this no exception but it is something I did slowly and many people have Instagram feeds that are devoted solely to the Hipstamatic and its many combinations, I have one gripe because I love this app for Vintage or Modern looks, now that I have built up my apps ...I love running a photo that is not so great through post editing, and I like that you can buy multiple cameras that turn your phone into the back interface of a camera with many choices, 2 issues do not delete an item by mistake, because you will have to pay for it again, I don't like that it is that way....two can you get a regular friggin crop adjuster. The one you have doesnt work properly then I have crop it later, but those dont make me regret my choices to get it but come on....I've spent a lot, if I accidentally hit delete every other a has a restore purchases button...please I still have a ton of choices but give me the stuff that I 've paid for.....but You can actually get many likes just with # hashtag Hipstamatic cause theres a following
Anyone can take a photo and then modify it using digital filters and apps. The real challenge for photographers in the days of film camera was trying to get the best shot in-camera. Nothing replicates that experience like Hipstamatic. You get what you get, and that element of chance returns the risk and excitement of using a film camera. It's fun and challenging to try out different combinations of "film" and lenses and flash. I've downloaded almost every pack since the app came out and I love that they keep adding new ones. Sometimes it can get kind of over-crowded with equipment, but I've found that using the Favorites feature helps to quickly switch to the combo I want (and it's brilliant that the Favorites show you sample shots you have used with each combo!). It is also possible to disable equipment you don't want - or at least don't want installed for a particular project. It's too bad that Instagram caught on so intensely and has taken a lot of the market share, but it is possible to post your Hipstamatic prints to Instagram and other sharing sites. I haven't printed anything via the Hipstamart yet, but I can't wait to!! Sadly, I originally only had an older iPod Touch, so I can't print those photos medium or large size - now I have an iPhone so I'm looking forward to using Hipstamart. Last thing - I love the story of how the company came into being. I highly recommend googling "Hipstamatic" and reading the story. This is the original Plastic Camera app and it's still my favorite!
****Hey you guys I recently switched from my iPhone 4 to a 4S and every time I use this app for like 10 minutes or use the high quality setting, my phone starts to heat up. It's only on 4S's and only ur app.*****to update my review I would really like to see this app take advantage of the volume up button now being usable for snapping the photo in the regular camera app and flipping the orientation so that button is on top. Thx!!!!!! Please!!!!I don't know why people say this app isn't user friendly, it's very simple. I use this app more than the standard camera and ADORE IT!!! I have taken so many pictures with it that I show off to family friends and they are always impressed. Yes you have to pay extra for EXTRA styles but it tells you that in the description. Instagram is generic in what it does to your pictures keeping a flat effect where as hipstamatic really highlights the fun in photography - the unexpected!!! I LOVE THIS APP❤💛❤💛 and while always say its my favorite out of hundreds of apps I have. The effects are always fun and intriguing and when new packs are released they are always worth the buy. Especially the new free ones!!!! If I could give it six stars I would. The only concern I have is that I will often get to the nine image max while it winds the roll and the app will sometimes crash causing me to lose any none developed pictures. Plz fix this! I know it's me pushing the app to wat it tells u is the limit but hey their is always room to improve. I will definitely be buying the iPhone 4 case here soon :)!!!!!
Update: This app had lost its way for a little bit, but I really think this is a step in the right direction. With the addition of oggl, I get the opportunity to play with lens/film combos. This makes hipstamatic even better. Way to go with the incorporation of a "real" photo sharing app. Far superior to the others on the market. Way to keep the art in mobile photography. And a new lens at the first of the month is just a cherry on top of the cake. :)--------------------------------------I've been a hipstafan since the beginning. It was my first photo app. I downloaded the new update with no problems (on iOS 5 though). I praise this app for all the lenses and film options available (I have them all). My only gripe is the fact that I wish they would allow you to take previous photos and provide the option of adding lens and film filters to them. I understand that this app is geared for the professional photographer, but sometimes time doesn't permit you to play around with the near infinite options of film/lens/flash choices, before capturing the moment. It would be nice, and also a learning experience for us less experienced photographers, to play around later with the above options to get a feel for what looks best. I would use this app 100% of the time if this feature was available. As an amateur photographer, I'm limited to scenery, because it doesn't move while I try and figure out what lens and film to use. I think with this feature, it would surpass Instagram as the best photo app. Regardless, I still love this app.
