Description

using old Xcode projects in Xcode gives an error related to old RSRCS format relics:

/Users/ingconti/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/.......Products/Debug-iphoneos/MyApp.app: resource fork, Finder information, or similar detritus not allowed
Command /usr/bin/codesign failed with exit code 1

App will clean all detrita removing "com.apple.ResourceFork" and "com.apple.FinderInfo" keys.

NOTE: ONLY for programmers!

Usage: choose folder You want to clean, it will recursively traverse all subfolder removing "detritus"

PS: do not pass a very deep hierarchy of folder: due to a limit in Posix threading, It will crash.

Lifesaver

I discovered CleanDetritus in October 2016 when Xcode 8 started enforcing the "no detritus" allowed in app bundle files. Since Xcode prevents a build without displaying any information as to which file(s) offended it, building an app that has many .pngs, .rtfs, etc., can be extremely frustrating. Because I maintain many such legacy Carbon apps, I spent hours finding and manually fixing files before finding CleanDetritus. When I discovered CleanDetritus in October 2016 (when Xcode 8 started enforcing the "no detritus" allowed in app bundle files,) it was an absolute lifesaver! Many kudos to the developer of this app!

I owe you a Dinner… Thank You Sir

Spend the last 12+ hours resolving issues with adobe exported .png assets. this app cleared the attribute files.
Anyone working with external files with attributes in xcode that need cleaning, drop the project in the utility and it will do its magic.

Great App

I was trying to submit the new version of my application to the AppStore but I couldn’t get it to archive. After hours of trying to remove “Finder information, or similar detritus” I stumbled upon this app. It worked great!!!! Thank you!
