Alexandria in Egypt 48BC.

The country is divided by civil war pitting Cleopatra's supporters against those of her brother and husband, Ptolemy, who is ravaging the country. In this climate of terror, Thomas, a young apprentice to Akkod, Cleopatra's astrologist and astronomist, falls in love with his master's daughter. One day, in horror, he discovers that both master and daughter have been kidnapped.

Thomas sets out on their trail and learns in the course of his investigations that Cleopatra herself had asked Akkod to make a specific divination, and that the partisan of Ptolemy are behind the kidnapping. Cleopatra promises Thomas that in exchange for the tablets required for the divination, her guards will find the master and his daughter.

Thomas's investigations lead him to the discovery of Egypt's legendary sites such as the Library of Alexandria and the Lighthouse. Thomas also meets the Queens and a whole host of their mysterious characters.
Will he manage to save his master and his loved one, so that together they can decypher the stars? Without the prophecy, the country will be lost; the destiny of Egypt and its Queen are in his hands.

Coladia is a reliable source for fun and challenging adventure gaming. Unfortunately, their games do crash unexpectedly (cleopatra and da vinci). Cleopatra was awesome, but could have been a little harder.

what happened to my saved games?

I was enjoying this game alot (yes, lost many otherwise perfectly useful hours of my day to this game...), until I installed the update. HORRORS! All my saved games are GONE!! I can click on the area where my "saved scrolls" are supposed to be, but each scroll comes up blank. Even if I click on the blank scroll- nothing. I'm very sad, because a) I was enjoying this game, and b) I paid enough money for it that I should have had the opportunity to play it all the way through. I've read other reviewers mention problems and crashes with this company: very disappointing. Apple should reconsider putting Coladia's programs on their sales lists until they can be more consistent in their products.

I wanted to be impressed

No doubt the graphics for this game are phenominal, but that doesn't make it a great game. First it took me 4 days and several attempts before the game would download. It had me a little worried, but I thought well I have slow internet access and this game is 1.63GB so I kept at it. I actually paid for it on the 6th I purchased it on the 5th and on the 9th I finally got it to complete the download. I was kind of frustrated with the game even after getting some hints on the game play. After a few days I have made some progress, but the game can still be a little frustrating. It definitely is a challenge, but I dont know if that makes it great. I did up my rating to 3 from 2.
