I had a little trouble getting the account opened but once done I’ve been really happy with them. The fact that they don’t invest my money in planet destroying fossil fuel projects and instead invest in renewable energy ones is so so important. And the 4.46% interest doesn’t hurt either! I live on the other side of the country but with check deposits done on my phone and a debit card I can use anywhere, that’s not an issue at all. And the customer service team is great too. They are kind and patient and helpful people who talk to you like a regular human being instead of that corporate HR way most banks do. I love this bank!!!

I was nervous starting with a newer bank but I wanted to find a bank that supports my values. The app works really well. No frills-just great function to do all the things you need to do. My only wish list item is an ability to give different savings accounts nicknames to help more easily tell them apart but it is a small ask and wasn't available at my last bank either. I would highly recommend this bank.

Climate First Bank is more like a credit union, a gazillion times better than USAA. First, they give great interest rates on checking accounts, or any account you choose. Second, the profits thing make are used to find great things for our planet, such as solar panels loans. They are friendly, responsive, and I just love them! I never thought I would say that about a bank.

The app is very confusing. When I click make an external transfer, there’s an error, the “help” guide is lengthy and not user friendly. The secure message option doesn’t work. I don’t need to pull out money yet but there’s virtually no way to do it over the app, it makes me hesitant to add more money to my savings. I’m nervous I put money somewhere it’ll be stuck there forever since there is also no way to get a debit card without visiting a branch. When I click on see branch locations, it just goes to the front page. I love the idea of putting my money into a morally conscionable bank but I’m getting really nervous I’ll never have access to my money again.
