From the 15-year-old BAFTA-winning developer of OPERATOR 41, a little arcade rhythm game I made during lockdown.

Ratings and Reviews
Beautifully aesthetic, but one problem
This game looks great and only have it for about 5 minutes, I have a problem though. I don’t understand much of the game, the game tries to show what to do, but I still don’t understand. If the maker/makers would make a text tutorial it would be so much better.

Maker here! I'm working on fixing the tutorial right now. Thanks so much for the review!
Interesting, but no rhythm mechanic
The game has potential I suppose, but there doesn’t seem to be any rhythm mechanic to gameplay. The music is great, but aside from the beat occasionally deciding when certain bricks emerge, there’s no incentive to utilize the rhythm. Coming from a background of Crypt of the NecroDancer and all the Rhythm Heaven games, I love rhythm-based games, but the rhythm must be utilized/emphasized, otherwise it’s just another game with good music :/ -perhaps there is a rhythm mechanic I’m missing. This could be remedied with a better tutorial. While I’m sure the developer meant for the tutorial to be simple and approachable, it ended up providing no clarity on what the player is supposed to do, or what any of the icons represent. I get the whole discoverability approach to learning a new game, but it’s too abstract to interpret clearly.
Developer Response ,
Absolutely working on making rhythm a heavier element. I think possibly there could be ranked scoring for the bosses based on how on the beat you could play?
Also working on a new tutorial - I originally wanted to do it without text so it would be understandable in all countries, but that clearly just made it more confusing. Thanks for your feedback! Spruce
It’s kinda hard
I just got the game and I did the tutorial. I thought I could get the hang of it….but I didn’t. The game explains how to play but it’s hard to get the hang of. There is only three levels. I haven’t been able to complete any of them…I might’ve been able to but the levels are soooooooooo long😫 They have multiple stages to have to go through to but able to complete them. So overall I think this game is sorta hard.
