The potential is there; iPhone app notifications and selections get lost after the 1st level of menu selection... the orange or red notification indicator is only visible on the top level menu in the iPhone app version: webpage access shows the indicator on each subsequent level of menus.Otherwise, a great way to follow construction progress. This one simple fix would rate it 5 stars, as is... it is a tedious process to find updates and selection notifications.
We are custom home builder with large volume. We are cost plus business model. We needed a way to get all on the same page with clients and our staff. It has given us transparency, organization, connectivity, and direction. We would not have been able to get over the hump without this system. We recommend this for any construction company that is serious about growth and understands the value of processes. Our clients have been thrilled with it and in some cases it actually covered our tail because all the Documentation of communication is recorded. There are so many other ways we use this software. It’s worth every penny and so glad we spent the time and effort to truly understand it. There was a tough learning curve in the beginning but with CC internal support and training we moved through it then we really opened it up. With anything that offers great reward there is often a struggle in the beginning. If anyone ever needs to chat about this then feel free to reach out to us at Millhaven Homes. Happy to share.
Ever since they merged with buildertrend they started changing things. I can no longer upload photos from my phone to a job which is a very big deal for my company. They said they were working on it but it’s now been over 3 weeks and there has not been an update to fix. For 5-600 per month, they don't get any slack from me! For $10 a month, sure, but for premium costs, I expect a premium product. Their customer service team doesn’t even respond to my emails anymore. They just don’t care! I’m BEYOND frustrated. Prospect projects without pictures are beginning to pile up and my subs can’t send accurate bids without lots of before photos. Not their problem though. For them they can just keep saying “we’re working on it” for me as a project manager I have to jump through hoops in order for my jobs to stay on track. I’m at my breaking point. I’m now looking for new programs to use.
I’ve been using CoConstruct for over six years as a builder, and up until recently, it was a reliable and helpful tool for managing my projects. Unfortunately, the latest update has made the software functionally useless for my workflow.Files routinely get stuck when opened, and I’m unable to exit, send, or even save them. This isn’t just frustrating—it completely halts progress on my end and disrupts my day-to-day operations. On top of that, the overall performance has gotten noticeably slower, making even the simplest tasks feel like a chore. After years of loyalty, I’m now forced to consider switching platforms. It’s incredibly disappointing to see a tool that once worked well become this unreliable. I hope the team listens to long-time users like myself and addresses these major issues quickly.
These people are completely crooks. They lied point blank when they were selling me the access to there software just to get $170 from me. During my first tutorial I realized they do not have an option to create an estimate based on your plans. I asked again to clarify at that point I was told their product does not offer that option. Throwout our conversations prior to purchasing the product I was told that the coconstuct offer a lot more and we have 90 day money back guarantee. When I told him that this is not what I wanted they tell me I can’t get my money back because I didn’t keep it for 90 days. I’m letting these thieves charge my card for 90 days for something that will not even work for me. So folks be carful dealing with #1 crooks in construction industry. Plus someone told me I can dispute charges with my credit card company since they these are fraudulent charges.
Developer Responsemidsouth builders, we are really surprised to see this review. We take integrity seriously. Not just between our company and you, but given the lack of trust between builders and homeowners, we are committed to helping improve the homebuilder integrity brand in total. Our system handles many mission critical aspects of a custom homebuilder or remodelers day-to-day including estimating, though maybe not in the exact way you expected. Additionally, our records show that you requested to cancel the service on 1/16/19 and received your full refund on 1/23/19. Regarding the guarantee, Co-Construct includes Implementation Coaches who support the onboarding of our customers. We devote a substantial amount of time and effort to guide our customers through the process. Given that, we ask that new customers at least give us a chance to show you why we are the #1 Highest Rated Custom Builder and Remodeler Software provider. So we do have a process that customers must follow to qualify for a money back guarantee.
I won't talk about the benefits of coconstruct here, as builders that use it know it's immense value. The reviewer that have one star apparently didn't read anything about the software before purchasing! The app itself is constantly being improved, just like the web version. These folks listen to input, and I have seen changes made after I have suggested things. Overall, good functionality that keeps getting better, from an honest company.
Check out “Home Building Excel Spreadsheet” on Etsy (store name on Etsy is “Spreadsheets4Life”). It has cost/schedule (Gantt) and a step-by-step checklist. It even has an estimated draw schedule. If you’re a smaller company it may take care of your needs. Co Construct may be overkill for what you are doing. If so, why pay so much each month. The Etsy spreadsheet is a one-time cost.
Recent revisions to the app have left it broken and unstable. Constant crashes on multiple devices as well as loosing requested information after passing through two layers of selections. Their web based interface is ok, yet there are substantially better softwares out there. Steer clear of this mess of a app and stick with the web based interface if you are a trade who is forced into this mess of a software. If you are a builder, do your trades a favor and pick a better software.
The feature where you message needs improvements. There is no way from the customer side to see if messages are seen by the builder/company. I feel that it limits the credibility of communication. I messaged my builder company and have no idea if anyone saw it. Now I’m left waiting and wondering. I have no prof or knowledge of they did. Things will become troublesome for my project if my messages are not received. I need, as the customer, need to hold them accountable for their actions or progressively try other ways to reach out.
If you are a homeowner and your contractor wants you to use this app, demand that you do not use it. It is the worst app I’ve ever used. It caused more stress waiting for the chat to load. It constantly crashes. It is horrible. Do not allow your contractor to make you use this piece of trash app. The chat function will often crash and not load. If it does load it takes forever. You might as well take a shower make a coffee while you wait for the chat to load. Save yourself the stress, do not use this app.
