If you don't have color deficiency, it's hard to imagine color blindness. Just play with this simple app and get a felling of how it is. ColorBlindCam can simulate most situations, such as protanopia, protanomaly, deuteranopia, deuteranomaly, tritanopia, tritanomaly, achromatopsia, achromatomaly, etc. And you can save the result to your photo library with just one click.

Nice idea, but extremely limited

So... it only works if you take a snapshot. It would be far more ideal if it applied an actual filter to your camera in real time. Theoretically, doing so could cause a little bit of lag, but I'd prefer that over a sort of photo snapping only. It'd also be nice if a brief description of each color blindness type was included for those of us who can't easily understand the difference between each type and get confused by the technical names. (I am a bit dyslexic, so remembering the difference between -opias and -omalys can result in things getting swapped in my head)
